She was one of the stars of hit flick Clueless, and now Stacey Dash has been dubbed “clueless” in real life after throwing her public support behind Republican nominee Mitt Romney.
“Vote for Romney. The only choice for your future,” she tweeted on Sunday accompanied by the photo above.
Since her tweet, Dash has been the subject of a barrage of negative tweets– some even racially charged.
“You’re an unemployed black woman endorsing @MittRomney. You’re voting against yourself thrice. You poor beautiful idiot,” one user responded.
While another one wrote, “I guess Clueless star Stacey Dash endorsing Mitt Romney shows that she is indeed clueless.”
But Dash is standing up for what she believes in– and so she should.
“My humble opinion… EVERYONE is entitled to one,” she tweeted.
And women’s rights activists Sandra Fluke, backed her right to voice her choice.
“So disappointed to see people attacking @REALStaceyDash for voicing her opinion. Disagree politically, but #racist attacks are unacceptable,” Fluke tweeted.
Meanwhile, Big Bird has raised his head again. After being the standout star of last Wednesday’s first presidential debate, Obama has used the Sesame Street’s resurgence in popularity to hit out at Romney.
In a political ad for the President’s re-election campaign, Big Bird is sarcastically cast as corporate fiend (watch the clip below).
And as to who is winning the political race as of Tuesday, depends on which national poll you follow.
Two recent polls show discrepancies as to who is the current frontrunner.
A Pew Research Center survey of likely voters conducted Oct. 4 to Oct. 7 gave Republican nominee Mitt Romney a four-percentage point lead over President Barack Obama.
Meanwhile, a Gallup poll of registered voters Oct. 1 to Oct. 7 showed Obama advancing over Romney by five points.
