Dad deserves the best so serve him up some cocktails made with Akvinta Vodka, a super-premium, USDA-certified organic and certified Kosher spirit.
Crafted using only premium ingredients including 100 percent organic wheat alcohol from Italy, water from Europe’s deepest most unspoiled lake in Croatia (seriously, that’s what they told us!) and nothing else – no additives of any kind. The vodka is then filtered through a revolutionary Quintuple Filtration system that uses five natural filters to purify the product.
We like the result – a smooth vodka that has a light citrus nose with a touch of sweetness, a light peppery mouth feel, and a finish with no burn. (Of course we taste-tested it for you.)
Chose it for a classic vodka Martini as well as other cocktails, especially those with citrus and fruit ingredients. The bottle is so handsome that we’re just putting a bow on it and giving it to our Dad!

Reese Witherspoon accessorized her adorable orange frock with yellow tulips and DITA sunnies, while out and about in Westwood on Wednesday, then again while shopping with hubby in Santa Monica on Wednesday, looking fresh as a spring flower.
We love this sunglass style, which looks good on almost everyone.

Often when you travel to scenic parts of the U.S., your choice of hotels often comes down to a charming Bed and Breakfast or (shudder) a theme hotel. We got lucky on our visit to Lancaster, PA. — famous for the local Amish and beautiful farm land – that a new Marriott had sprung up, smack in the downtown area in Penn Square.
As stunning as the local architecture — due to the hotel keeping much of the original facade and building in the same ornate style — The Lancaster Marriott at Penn Square has all the modern amenities, including an inside pool, a destination restaurant in “The Penn Square Grille and “Rendezvous Lounge,” and work stations with wifi access in the all the rooms. All the rooms feature the luxurious pillow-top bedding, which after a cross-country flight is perhaps the most important feature, plus 37-inch LCD TVs, granite countertops, 2 concierge levels, and a full-service spa, The Mandarin.
The facade of the original Watt & Shand Department Store is encorporated into the hotel.
Located in Downtown Lancaster (a National Historic District) it puts you near Central Market, the Fulton Theatre, and all the unique shopping and restaurants. Fridays are famous for their fresh- food market, and there’s always the popular Amish buggy tour or a Ghost tour, if you’re not a scaredy cat like us.
The local visitors building is conveniently right across from the hotel so start there. They’ll tell you about all the tours and the recommend a visit to the country’s oldest farmers’ market, in the heart of Amish country, which is located in a beautiful 120 year old red brick building. Regional food specialties include Pennsylvania Dutch sausage, scrapple (a breakfast meat of pork scraps and cornmeal), and headcheese (like scrapple, an acquired taste). Open Tuesdays and Fridays, 6:00 am to 4:00 pm, and Saturdays, 6:00 am to 2:00 pm year-round; the market is also a great place to buy souvenirs.
When you need a respite from the historical yours, try a shopping remedy at the Tanger Outlets, which features, well….everything.
Our home away from home, the Rendezvous Lounge, is beautifully appointed with it’s marble bar and European feel, and provides a wide selection of wines, many available by the glass.
Whatever your reason for the trip, make your stay something to remember at the Penn Square Marriott.
Proving once again that Cindy Crawford can wear anything and still look ravishing, take a gander at the cover of Summer 2013 Muse magazine where the model wears nothing but a Reformation‘s “Cindy Crawford Sweatshirt.” ($135.)
Despite having forgotten her pants, Cindy, at 47, is looking as much of a babe as ever in the sexy sweatshirt. As Reformation Founder Yael Aflalo says of the moment she first saw image:
“We joked about the possibility of this happening one day. We love Cindy and made this as a homage to her (as well as something to wear while eating potato chips on your couch). It’s a true honor to have her wear it and we are so delighted by the image.”
“It doesn’t get any better than this. Everyone at the company screamed when we saw Cindy in the sweatshirt. We made this as something to wear on a bad day to brighten your mood. And trust us, nothing brightened our day like this image.”
This vintage cotton/poly blend sweatshirt can be yours for $135 at Reformation.
We’re more of a “Lead Guitar” but you may like the “Ticker Holder” or “Crowd Surf” cheaters. And yes, we’re talking about sunglasses, made by Converse, better known for their sneakers than peepers.
The fashion-forward specs with the playful names, average around 60 bucks and are great quality for the price point. The lens are well-made (Polycarbonate lens with 100% UV protection coating) and resin, durable frames. they also have some “Glow In the Dark” pairs though we’re not exactly sure why you would be rocking them in the dark.
Martha Stewart swears by Mario Badescu skin care products and no matter what you think of the Omni-Media Maven, she does have beautiful skin. Here are three new sun products that we love, too.
1) WATERPROOF SUN PROTECTION SPF 15
Mario Badescu’s waterproof, sweat proof cream for the face provides sun protection while also moisturizing. It goes on light and absorbs quickly,
2) ALL PURPOSE SUN TAN MILK SPF 12
Made with skin softening Rice Bran Oil, Peanut Oil, and Palm Oil to moisturize skin and provide moderate sun protection from UVA and UVB rays. Note: Not for use on face or near eyes. If you don’t burn easily, this one is for you.
3) AFTER SUN COOLING GEL
Enriched with Aloeto soothe skin and reduce the sting and discomfort of a sun burn. This non-greasy, lightweight gel cools immediately upon contact. It also smells wonderful and we’ve been known just to spray it on for a quick refresh.
We knew it was a matter of WHEN not IF former MTV reality star Kristin Cavallari would tie the knot with Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler and the he finally put a ring on it Friday. The ecstatic newly-minted bride tweeted:
‘I’m officially Kristin Elizabeth Cutler!!!!!’
Speculation soared after the couple was seen purchasing a marriage license for the state of Tennessee in Nashville earlier that morning, and sure ‘nuf they married in a secret ceremony later the same day.
The 28-year old Cavaralli also posted a photo of the couple’s complimentary rings. Congrats!
We only watch ”Keeping up with the Kardasians” for the fashion. Really. Otherwise, we only watch PBS and nature shows. Really.
For example, we loved the Line Knitwear’s “Serengeti” sweater K.K. sported on Sunday’s premiere of “Keeping up with the Kardasians”, so we tracked it down for you.
The open weave sweater with a slit neckline sells for $165 at Line Knitwear. Now, back to binge-watching ‘Wicked Tuna’ on the National Geograhic Channel. Now that’s reality TV!
