It was a trip to celebrate her 40th birthday, but one that also included a reported engagement and a near miss with jail.
And Sofia Vergara’s son Manolo Gonzalez caught every moment of their Mexican adventure on tape.
The 19-year-old filmed the trip for his mockumentary YouTube series Mi Vida Con Toty (which translates to My Life With Toty, Vergara’s nickname).
And in the video, we see an apparent marriage proposal after Vergara is joined by boyfriend, Nick Loeb, and 107 members of her family and friends as they explore the Mayan ruins in Chichen Itza.
Vergara is seen climbing a pyramid with Loeb, her boyfriend of more than two years.
Soon after, the couple descends the stairs holding hands – and Sofia is wearing a large diamond ring.
Though Vergara’s representative have remained coy about the engagement with sources saying that the ring was simply an over-the-top birthday gift, Vegara’s son seems to confirm what her reps won’t.
In his video commentary, Manolo says: “Once they were to the top of the pyramid, my mother’s longtime boyfriend, Nick, proposed to her.”
