Celebzter Supports: An end to gun violence

Support / December 21, 2012

You would be hard pressed to find one person who didn’t shed many a tear over the horrific shootings last Friday at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, CT.

Who wasn’t absolutely heartbroken that 20 innocent children died?

So, we join the 750 mayors and 750,000 grassroots supporters who are vying for change.

And we support Demand a Plan and their common sense legislation that will:

  1. Require a criminal background check for every gun sold in America
  2. Ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines
  3. Make gun trafficking a federal crime, including real penalties for “straw purchasers”

Jennifer Aniston, Gwyneth Paltrow and Beyoncé are also throwing their support behind the cause, as are a host of stars featured in this clip below.

But, this isn’t just a cause with a celebrity weight behind it, it is a cause that everyone in America should back in the efforts of ensuring a safer future for all and to stop these senseless, heartbreaking tragedies.

And don’t even get us started on the comments from the NRA on Friday.
