UPDATE: Lindsay Lohan will not be prosecuted by the L.A. County District Attorney for stealing more than $100,000 worth of watches and sunglasses from a Hollywood Hills home — TMZ has learned the D.A. just rejected the case.
There has been the calm, but now the storm is brewing once again around Lindsay Lohan.
The 26-year-old, who has seemingly stayed out of trouble with the law in recent months, was named as a suspect in a $100,000 jewelry theft at a Hollywood Hills party, TMZ reported, citing anonymous law enforcement sources.
This comes in addition to a Los Angeles Police Department spokesman telling the Daily News that detectives in the case had not yet named a prime suspect as of Tuesday morning. There is also the new reports that the Santa Monica Police Department is seeking to question the actress about a June car accident.
If she lied to cops about the accident – as they think she did – or is convicted in the theft, either offense would be a violation of Lohan’s probation.
When equates to no get out of jail free card for Lohan.
Her latest woes stem from a party last week at the Hollywood Hills mansion of millionaire Sam Magid, who claims that he woke up to find $100,000 worth of watches and designer sunglasses missing.
While he initially pointed the finger at Lohan and Doyle, he later changed his story claiming that nothing was missing. BUT, law enforcement sources told TMZ the investigation was still open because of witness testimony.
