Lindsay Lohan may be thrilled she’s booked a gig on Glee, but Dr. Drew feels like she is rushing into her comeback too fast.
And, the outspoken doctor feels it could, in fact, jeopardize her recovery.
He has spoken exclusively about his concerns to Life & Style magazine, and we would love to hear whether you agree with him or not.
Here is their report….
Lindsay Lohan may think she’s getting her career back on track after booking a string of TV gigs, but celebrity addiction specialist Dr. Drew accuses the busy star of not “taking her sobriety seriously.”
After hearing that Lindsay had signed on to play herself in an episode of Glee, Dr. Drew told Life & Style, ”If she’s not going to take her sobriety seriously, then she may as well take a job.
“At least she’s being productive and doing something besides partying,” he added. “It’s incredible that she can handle it and pull it off. I wish her luck.”
Regardless of her recent success — in addition to the Glee job, she appeared on Saturday Night Live and signed on to play Elizabeth Taylor in a TV biopic — Dr. Drew thinks her future looks bleak.
“The sad thing is that when she is finally ready to take her sobriety seriously and get clean, then it will be too late for her and her career will be completely over,” he said. “That will be sad for her.”
On Wednesday, Lindsay’s rep confirmed that the 25-year-old will guest-star on the hit Fox show. The Mean Girls actress is reportedly set to play herself on the musical comedy, despite having said in the past that she was upset with the show for mocking her. In 2010, Gwyneth Paltrow’s character began her Spanish class by asking, “Lindsay Lohan is totally crazy, right?” and ”How many times has Lindsay Lohan been to rehab?”
Meanwhile, LiLo seems an awful lot more optimistic than Dr. Drew!
“I’m really honored, and I will not let anyone down — especially myself.… I could see where it could be scary for people to invest in me, and I don’t want people to have that reason anymore,” she said after winning the Elizabeth Taylor role. “So having this opportunity with this film, I’m going to enjoy doing it and do it the best I can.”
Lindsay’s probation from her jewelry-theft incident last year is scheduled to end tomorrow, March 29.
