Well, now you can take your endless questions (especially for the first two) directly to the source on Dial-A-Star.We caught up with Gina Rodriguez, who owns DD Entertainment, and is the driving force behind this new vehicle for stars connecting with their fans.Here’s our interview with her…Celebzter: What is the concept behind Dial-A-Star?Gina: Dial-A-Star is a way for fans to now connect with their favorite Celebrity, Reality TV Star or Media Personality. The fan can now dial-up and speak to the Celeb of their choice for a per minute fee.
Gina: I manage and do PR for several controversial media personalities and I receive a lot of emails and phone messages at the office from fans wanting to speak with them. I thought it would be great to set up a service were the celebrity can monetize the call.
Gina: Dial-A-Star was just launched 8 days ago.
Gina:I launched the site with my clients and now we have the celebs contacting us direct. We have been going through hundreds of emails to get Celebs set up, so keep checking daily as new faces will be showing up. It’s an attractive business model to the Celebs, it’s a new way besides Twitter to connect with their fans. The celebrity gets 50% of the calls and the funds are immediately available from the calls.
Gina: Currently to name a few…Rachel Uchitel, Jeremy London, Danielle Staub, Chris Crocker, Dina Lohan, Angelina Pivarnick, Jonny Fairplay, Brace, AJ Benza, Chad Brown, Steven Gantt, Michael Lohan, Nadya Suleman and many more.
Gina: I would love to see the Jersey Shore cast come on and the Teen Moms. I know they would all do well.
Celebzter: Is there any topics off-limits for the celebs?
Gina:The celebrities decide what they want to talk about, its purely up to them.
Gina: The most unique element is that a Celebrity can take a phone call, speak directly to the fan, hang up and withdraw their funds immediately. The Celebrity is also given a Blog, Gallery and Store connected to their Dial A Star profile to display Merchandise or Update their fans.
We are getting ready to launch Dial-A-Athlete, Dial-A-Comic and Dial-A-Artist for the Sports, Comic and Music fans! We are hoping to bring in some big names for Dial-A-Artist, we have reached out to T.I as we have had many requests for fans to talk to him, as well as Drake, Chris Brown, Rihanna, Beyonce , Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber.
