Cheryl Shuman hosts the dinners once a month, which give new meaning to pot roast

Fancy a cannabis leaf salad, chicken fried in cannabis oil and marijuana milk shakes?

That is exactly what is on the menu when you attend a dinner party at mom-of-two Cheryl Shuman’s luxury house in Beverly Hills.

Each month, she hosts a dinner party for her equally wealthy friends so that they sample new strains of marijuana and smoke together.

Medicinal marijuana use is legal in California, after all.

These “marijuana moms” want to change the perception of those who like to partake in the odd toke or two, with many of them admitting they smoke marijuana several times a day to relax and cope with chronic pain.

“We’ve all come up against people who say marijuana is for dirty druggies, but we are proof you can be good parents and productive members of society and use it,” Cheryl, 55, said.

A fierce advocate for pot use, Cheryl compared ingesting marijuana on a regular basis to mothers in the 1960s who took “mother’s little helper” pills – Valium – to help them cope with the daily strains of motherhood and running a household, as another parent, January attests to.

“Marijuana makes me a better and more creative parent. It puts me in the moment with Zeena and stops me worrying about everyday problems,” said January, who says she smokes marijuana five times a day while she looks after her two-year-old daughter Zenna.

You would think that after 14 months of marriage you’d expect to be told that your spouse wants a divorce via a lengthy phone call, detailing to you everything that is wrong about the relationship and why the marriage won’t work.

You would think.

But when Russell Brand decided to call it quits with wife, Katy Perry, he just sent a text telling her it was over.

In an interview with Vogue‘s Vicki Woods for the July cover, Katy opens about how the marriage ended and what went wrong.

“He’s a very smart man, and I was in love with him when I married him,” she says. “Let’s just say I haven’t heard from him since he texted me saying he was divorcing me December 31, 2011.”

The 26-year-old singer and Brand, 38, married in October 2010, after meeting at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards. Though Brand was the one to file for divorce, Perry said the British comic’s sense of humor was losing its charm on her before then.

“[He's] hysterical in some ways. Until he started making jokes about me and he didn’t know I was in the audience, because I had come to surprise him at one of his shows,” she tells Vogue. “I mean, I have to claim my own responsibility in things. I do admit that I was on the road a lot. Although I invited him time and time again, and I tried to come home as much as I possibly could. You saw that in the movie [Katy Perry: Part of Me]. That wasn’t edited to leave footage out—there wasn’t any footage of him.”

And probably the biggest problem between the pair proved to be his inability to accept her as his “equal.”

“He didn’t like the atmosphere of me being the boss on tour. So that was really hurtful, and it was very controlling, which was upsetting,” she reveals. “I felt a lot of responsibility for it ending, but then I found out the real truth, which I can’t necessarily disclose because I keep it locked in my safe for a rainy day. I let go and I was like: This isn’t because of me; this is beyond me. So, I have moved on from that.”

 As for John Mayer, Katy confirmed that after three attempts to make their relationship work, their romance is now definitely “over’, but she admits to still being in love with him.

“It’s over … I was madly in love with him. I still am madly in love with him. All I can say about that relationship is that he’s got a beautiful mind,” she says of John.

Adding: “Beautiful mind, tortured soul. I do have to figure out why I am attracted to these broken birds.”

She still holds out hope of finding Mr Right, saying: “I believe that I will be loved again, in the right way. I know I’m worth it.”

If this is an insight into the marriage of celebrity chef and author Nigella Lawson and Charles Saatchi, then we don’t like it one bit — it is clearly volatile and dysfunctional.

After the public outcry from the now-infamous “throat-grabbing” incident at a London restaurant on June 9, Saatchi “voluntarily attended a central London police station and accepted a caution for assault” on Monday, a spokesman for Scotland Yard said in a statement.

But here’s the zinger: According to the 70-year-old, who initially downplayed the fight saying it was playful lover’s tiff, Nigella made no complaint about the incident.

“Although Nigella made no complaint, I volunteered to go to Charing Cross station and take a police caution after a discussion with my lawyer because I thought it was better than the alternative of this hanging over us all for months,” Saatchi told London’s Evening Standard.

Saatchi was questioned for five hours over the incident, which took place at seafood restaurant Scott’s.

“Officers from the Community Safety Unit at Westminster were aware of the Sunday People article which was published on 16 June and carried out an investigation,” a Met spokesman said.

Saatchi accepted a caution for assault. (A police caution is a formal warning in the U.K. for minor offenses that carries no penalty.)

Nigella has yet to comment publicly on the incident. Her rep confirmed Monday that she had taken her children and left her home, although it was not known if the move would be permanent.

The couple have been married for ten years.

During the al fresco lunch for Saatchi’s birthday, Nigella, 53, was tearful and Saatchi put both of his hands tightly around her throat. “There was no grip, it was a playful tiff,” the multimillionaire previously explained, saying he was trying to get his point across.

We hate to judge, but it’s really hard not to.

As one onlooker told the Sunday People, who printed the explosive photos: “No man should do that to a woman.”

According to In Touch magazine, Kanye has his heart set on one name, while the Kardashian clan, has other ideas entirely.

A close friend of Kim’s details their baby-naming battle in this week’s issue of In Touch, on newsstands tomorrow. ”North is at the top of the list of names,” the pal dishes about their bundle of joy’s potential name. “They’re not totally sure about it. Kanye loves it, Kim is okay with it.”

And if Kanye has learned one thing about being part of the Kardashian clan, it’s that they stick together! “The family doesn’t like it [the name],” the insider explains, adding, “They’re going to decide by today [Tuesday].

It’s hard looking at these photos of Alex Minsky to fully comprehend the depths of despair he has delved into.

The 24-year-old U.S. Marine nearly died and spent 47 days in a coma after his truck ran over a roadside bomb in Afghanistan.

He then battled with depression and alcoholism. He also lost his younger brother.

He was at the lowest of lows.

Three years on Alex, from Venice Beach, California, is now a rising star in the fashion world after being spotted in the gym by a photographer. 

Incidentally, it was the one day Alex decided to not drink.

He told the Huffington Post: “Photographer Tom Cullis found me in the gym in Newport beach, where I live right now. He tried me out – we did a test shoot – and his photographs got the ball rolling.

Today Alex has left his demons with alcohol at the gym door, embracing a healthy lifestyle.

He goes to the gym twice a day and has been sober for nine months.

He quips: “I can’t drink because I needed to find my abs more! So I can’t drink cause of all those carbs in alcohol!”

Kissy, kissy: LeAnn can’t keep her hands off Eddie

Father’s Day is supposed to entail children showing their unwavering love for their dad.

But for LeAnn Rimes it was just another excuse to indulge in a  PDA session with hunky hubby Eddie Cibrian.

And naturally, she needed to share her latest round of tonsil tennis with the whole wide world.

The 30-year-old singer tweeted a snap of herself kissing Eddie on Father’s Day, which also marked his 40th birthday.

She tweeted: “Happy 40th birthday to my incredible husband and the best father his boys could ever ask for. We all love you baby @EddieCibrian.”

She also posted a photo of her playing happy families with Eddie and his kids, which is bound to wind up his ex-wife Brandi Glanville.

But for once, Brandi is getting the last laugh in this ongoing drama — LeAnn’s new album Spitfire, has been a flop.

Despite the intense publicity surrounding the offering and the column inches she derived after it was revealed the songs were inspired by her affair with Eddie, the album limped in at just No 36 on the Billboard 200 chart.

Even her nemesis Brandi suggested LeAnn should concentrate on new material, not rehashing the past.

The photos are harrowing for any woman who has been the victim of domestic abuse. And the explanation is not much better either.

 In a series of shocking pictures, British television chef Nigella Lawson appeared to have been choked by her husband  as an argument turned violent during a restaurant outing on June 9.

The 53-year-old chef and her millionaire art dealer husband were out in London to celebrate his birthday at their favorite seafood restaurant Scott’s last Sunday, but the conversation appeared to have turned sour.

Nigella looked tearful as her husband grabbed her neck FOUR times, first with his left hand and then both.

The whole ordeal was chronicled in the series of photos obtained by British tabloid The Sunday People, and horrified onlookers provided details of the nasty spat.

A witness was quoted in the Sunday newspaper as saying: “It was utterly shocking to watch.

“I have no doubt she was scared. It was horrific, really. She was very tearful and was constantly dabbing her eyes. Nigella was very, very upset.

“She had a real look of fear on her face. And yet she kissed him. She appeared to be a woman who loves him but was clearly unable to stop him being abusive, frightening and disrespectful to her.

“No man should do that to a woman.”

However,  Saatchi has defended his actions, simply claiming the coupe had a “playful tiff” and insisting she was only crying because she hates it when they argue.

“About a week ago, we were sitting outside a restaurant having an intense debate about the children, and I held Nigella’s neck repeatedly while attempting to emphasize my point,” Saatchi, 70, said in the statement
released a statement to the Evening Standard.

“There was no grip, it was a playful tiff. The pictures are horrific but give a far more drastic and violent impression of what took place. Nigella’s tears were because we both hate arguing, not because she had been hurt. We had made up by the time we were home. ”

He also addressed the issue that Nigella and her children have since left the couple’s West London home.

“The paparazzi were congregated outside our house after the story broke yesterday morning, so I told Nigella to take the kids off till the dust settled,” he said in the statement.

However, despite the multimillionaire’s comments to the Evening Standard, police revealed that they were likely to question them about the incident.

According to various reports, the pair have a volatile relationship and the more success Nigella achieves, the more rebellion she receives at home.

Saatchi, who describes himself as a control freak and at times “cringingly vain” has also said his wife’s cookery is wasted on him and he ­prefers ­nursery food such as eggs and beans on toast.

Nigella once said of him: “Charles doesn’t really like proper food. He prefers a bowl of cereal.”

One acquaintance who had a ­conversation with Nigella recently said: “For Saatchi, Nigella has eclipsed him and he’s grumpier.

“His ultimate act of rebellion has been to reject her food. I have a ­feeling that drinking and smoking come into this as well. Her first ­husband John Diamond died of throat cancer in 2001. Yet Saatchi smokes.

“She’d never say anything about it though. She wouldn’t like to do ­anything to upset him.

“Nigella is in awe of him and ­surprisingly lacking in confidence herself.”

Her lack of confidence could be traced back to her own abusive childhood.

A violent and depressive woman, Vanessa Salmon – who married former Conservative Chancellor Nigel Lawson, would lash out at her and her brother, former Sunday Telegraph editor Dominic, when they made too much noise, she claimed.

One neighbors of Charles and Nigella claim that they had previously heard the pair having a bitter argument loudly in the street.

This latest turn of events is sure to put a strain on their ten-year marriage, his third and her second.

Or maybe not.

Nigella has shown no signs of trouble at home, happily tweeting about recipes and telling her followers about restaurants that she has visited.

She also tweeted that she was celebrating the end of her children’s exams in school, by making them brownies.

Nigella has two children, Cosima, 19, and Bruno, 17, with her husband John Diamond, who she met while they worked at The Sunday Times.

The proud parents shared this sweet snap of their newborn daughter Everly on Facebook on Sunday.

“First Father’s Day with my girls,” Channing, 33, wrote in the accompanying caption.

In the photo, the Sexiest Dad Alive is seen cradling the two-week old infant as Jenna looks lovingly on.

Jenna, 32,  also posted the same photo on her own Facebook page, writing, “First Father’s Day with our lil angel!”

The couple’s decision to introduce their daughter to the world via social media has been applauded by their legion of fans.

One Facebook user wrote in response to the photo, “Aww nice to see a celebrity couple showing off there (sic) baby without being paid to on some magazine cover!”

That comment alone has garnered 506 ‘likes”.

Jenna, who gave birth on May 31 in London, recently thanked her fans for all their well wishes.

“Thank you everyone for all the loving messages! Chan, myself and Everly are happy as can be and appreciate them all,” she tweeted on June 6.

Channing opened up in the July issue of Vanity Fair about the father he hopes to be.

“I’m just going to be a good friend to my kid,’ he said. ‘I don’t think you can prepare. It’s a bit of a freestyle.”

Channing and Jenna couple met on the set of Step Up in 2006 and tied the knot three years later.

Atlantic City is used to seeing some strange sights, but nothing could quite prepare guests at the  Revel Resort for Amanda Bynes.

Running around with messy hair, the 27-year-old was accompanied by her dog and was spotted Saturday night still wearing store tags on her  dress.

If her wild look wasn’t enough to turn heads, then her bizarre behavior certainly was.

Wearing a white lace  maxi gown, Amanda naturally donned her sunglasses at night and some patrons claimed she reeked of alcohol.

One Twitter follower, who spotted her at the Jersey Shore, wrote: “Holy s— just saw Amanda Bynes come out of a bathroom at Revel doing the  chicken dance.”

While another said she was “dancing around and acting crazy.”

She even got into a fight with one man and attempted to call security on him after he tried to take a photo of her.

“She started yelling at my dad and lunging at  him,” a source told Perez Hilton. “She just freaked out screaming, he can’t  take my picture.”

It seems her weekend was a no-picture zone.

Some Revelers asked if she was in fact the wig-wearing actress, she replied, “Yes, but you can’t take pictures of me.”

While she has been quiet on Twitter today, it was all tweet steam ahead on Saturday when she continued on her “ugly” tirade (this time Dr. Drew  and Jason Biggs were on the receiving end of her insults) and she posted a bizarre series of tweets.

“If you’re not hot I don’t care about you,” read one tweet.

“I don’t like you I don’t want you to be  happy and I’ll go out of my way to hurt you,” she said in another tweet.

And in another she wrote: “When people say I need help, it says nothing  about me. They aren’t getting any response from me.”

She added: “My real friends know I don’t need help. It  makes me crazy to even have to respond to any type of rumor. I need to deny any  false statement because I care about how I look.”

The there was this little pearl: ”I feel like I’m being punked  by the amount of hate from ugly dudes and women. I don’t know you and don’t know  what you’re talking about!”

According to a new report, Paris Jackson’s suicide bid came on the back of discovering that Michael was not her biological father.

Sources tells The Sun newspaper that Paris, 15, was also convinced she was brother Prince’s full sibling.

The paper reports:

After being told the truth, a string of rows followed between devastated Paris and Prince, 16.

She plunged into depression and is still in an LA hospital after reportedly  slashing her wrists and downing pills on June 5.

Paris was given the news to prepare her for a tough grilling during the court fight between the Jackson family and concert firm AEG, who  they blame for Michael’s death.

Last night a family friend said: “Paris has always wanted to believe  Michael was her dad, but was aware that wasn’t really the case.

“She was convinced her and Prince were full siblings. She always idolized  him.

Paris is said to be feeling  better but will stay in hospital for up to 30 days.

She will then spend more time with mum Debbie, 54, in California. Paris is  said to hate the “circus” at the Jackson household — but remains close to  her  grandma Katherine. Last night Paris’s representatives did not return our  calls.

If this turns out to be true, then our heart breaks for her — she is only still a teen and has endured so much in her short lifetime. And she loved her father so much — she must be experiencing a rollercoaster of emotions right now.

Another housewife is off the market!

On Saturday afternoon, “The Real Housewives of Orange County” star Tamra Barney exchanged vows with her partner of three years, Eddie Judge, Life & Style magazine is exclusively reporting.

The mag writes:

The nuptials took place at the stunning St. Regis Monarch Beach Resort in Dana Point, Calif., in front of more than 100 guests, including RHOC cast members Gretchen Rossi, Vicki Gunvalson and Alexis Bellino.

The 45-year-old bride, who has been married twice before, chose three different dresses for her big day, all by Mark Zunino.

“It’s going to be a big wedding, so I am doing three different dresses for three different stages of the wedding,” Tamra told Life & Style exclusively last month. “A bridal one, a reception one and a party one.”

The wedding party included her Housewives co-star Heather Dubrow, who also sang at the reception, as well as Marcos Prolo, who introduced the couple and acted as Eddie’s best man.

“The ceremony was elegant and beautiful,” an eyewitness says. “At the altar was an upside-down gold bicycle and gold chandeliers with crystal and white flowers draping down.” As for the reception, which took place in the Monarch Ballroom, Tamra and Eddie made sure their guests had a good time.“There will be lots of booze,” she told Life & Style. “There will be an open bar.”

The ballroom was decorated by wedding planner Diane Valentine in romantic shades of pink. “The tables were covered with a nude-colored tablecloth and decorated with tall branches topped with pink and white flowers, and the gold chairs were decorated with white tulle and crystal accents,” the eyewitness says.

The entire day was filmed by Bravo for a three-part wedding special called Tamra’s OC Wedding, which will air on Mondays starting on Sept. 2. The show will document their joint Las Vegas bachelor and bachelorette party, Tamra’s dress fittings as well as other aspects of the planning for the big day. “I wouldn’t have it any other way,” Tamra said of having her wedding filmed for the show. “My fans have seen me go through so much that of course I’d want to share that.”

The couple will jet off on their honeymoon in July once filming for the wedding spin-off is complete. “All she wanted was this big, fairy-tale wedding, and now it’s come true,” a friend of the couple shared.

Eddie proposed to Tamra during their vacation to Bora Bora in February 2012.

Let’s hope third times is the charm for Tamra.

A Wendy’s employee has been caught on camera eating soft serve directly from the dispenser — and unfortunately for him, the photograph went viral after being posted on Reddit on Wednesday.

Bob  Bertini, a spokesman for Wendy’s, revealed that the employee involved was no longer with the restaurant.

This latest incident comes on the back of a snap of Taco Bell worker slobbering all over  a stack of taco shells.

That employee was also fired.

And guess what? The names leading the way all start with a K.

Irish bookmaker Paddy  Power has a slew of potential “K” names for infant, including Kay (20/1),  Kim (8/1) and Kris (20/1). They have even thrown it out there that the celeb  couple could name their child after themselves — Kimye  is priced at 25/1. Katherine (50/1) and non-K names like Mia (33/1) and Lara  (33/1) were also included.

BetVictor has a list of possible godparents for the Kimye  baby. Jay-Z and Beyonce are both priced at 1/2, and “Kim’s BFF Allison” (Azoff)  is priced at 1/3.

Kim, 32, recently confessed to Jay Leno her affection for the name Easton West.

“We have a list. And some of them are K names some of them  aren’t,” she said of her famous family’s tradition.

“[North] is not on our list,” she  said,  adding, “But you know what name I do like  - but  it probably won’t be on [our list]… I  like Easton – Easton West – I  think that’s cute.”

Suyima Torres was just 28 when she died in April.

The stories are becoming too familiar: Women ending up severely disfigured or even tragically dead after visiting backdoor plastic surgeons.

In this latest instance, a mother-of-two died after receiving butt implants from a Venezuelan “doctor”.

Suyima Torres was just 28 when she passed away in April.

Suyima reportedly visited Cuerpos Health and  Aesthetics for a $1,500 procedure in which an oily  yellow substance was  injected into each of her butt cheeks, according to court documents.

A few weeks later she had another round of  injections and felt dizzy right after. She died ten hours later.

She paid $2,300 in total cash for the  injections.

Though her cause of death has not been  determined, police are treating it as manslaughter connected to the unlicensed practice of  medicine.

According to leading plastic surgeon Dr. Constantino Mendieta this story brings to light two epidemics that are a  growing trend in cosmetic surgery.

“Unfortunately, many procedures are being performed by people who do not have a license in the US, they are often aestheticians, or other untrained personal that oftentimes flee the country if any problems occur,” he says.

Adding: “But an even a bigger problem is the injection of unapproved substances to the buttock. These substance are being used without any quality or product control therefore the patient have no idea what is being injected,  in some cases they are even using commercial grade products for cars. The reaction to these substances might show up years later, about 5-10 years, and often having catastrophic consequences requiring disfiguring reconstructive surgery that does not have much room for improvement. The issue is that these injections look and feel great in the very beginning with a very alluring and sexy price but the real price to pay comes 5-10 years later.

He states that in all likelihood, the patient died from “unapproved injections of who knows what substance and not from gluteal implants.”

“Gluteal implants are a very different procedure,” he adds.

Remember, you only get one body and if you are going to get plastic surgery, don’t do it on the cheap — the ramifications could forever change your life.

Another Kardashian has entered into the world!

Kim Kardashian gave birth to a baby girl at 1.30am Saturday morning.

Kim, who was due in mid-July, checked into Cedars-Sinai Medical Center after not feeling well on Friday night.

Baby daddy Kanye West was by her side and had skipped out on his listening party for his new album, “Yeezus,” in Los Angeles on Friday night because of Kim.

Mother and baby are said to be doing well, but given the baby’s early birth date, however, the  littlest Kardashian is in an incubator,  a source tells X17 online.

A source told Us Magazine that mother and daughter are ” doing great and amazing!

This is the first child for Kim and Kanye, 36.

She is not due until mid July, but Kim Kardashian’s little girl may be on its way.

We received a phone call some 30 minutes ago saying that Kim has gone into labor.

The 32-year-old reality star is said to have been admitted on Saturday morning to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center — a hospital of choice among many celebrities including Britney Spears and Jessica Simpson.

The Mail Online is also reporting that she has been admitted to the Beverly Hills hospital.

Can Kimye’s relationship withstand this latest claim?

It will be the first child for her and boyfriend Kanye West, 36.

Kim recently wrote about her trepidation of being a first-time mom as she paid tribute to her own mother, Kris Jenner.

She wrote on a special Mother’s Day blog post: “As I’m counting the days until I finally get to be a mother, I’m a bit nervous and anxious but also excited knowing that I learned from the very best.

“Kourtney, my sister, best friend, and mentor has also taught me so much about motherhood from being the most incredible mom to Mason and Penelope. She is super woman with her ability to effortlessly balance work with taking care of two amazing kids and I am so lucky to have her as my guide and confidant as I too become a mother.”

It has been widely reported that Kim’s due date was mid-July and if she is in labor, then we have to wonder if the stress of the recent Kanye cheating scandal cause her to go into labor early?
