Sam Champion is set to marry his partner, Rubem Robierb, ABC News announced Friday.
The weather anchor, who has never publicly commented upon his sexual orientation, said in a statement, “We are thrilled and so excited, and thank everyone for their good wishes.”
The 51-year-old has been dating Robierb, a Miami-based, Brazilian fine-arts photographer since meeting him a few years back.
“I’ve never been happier to share a bit of personal news!!” he wrote on Twitter this afternoon.
The pair are set to wed later this year and the nuptials will likely be held in New York since same-sex marriage has been legal in the Big Apple since last year.
