They say that the path to true love is never easy, and no one knows this better than Kim Kardashian.
With rumors reaching fever pitch that current beau Kanye West is set to pop the question, there seems to be just one rather large stumbling block which stands in her way of her happily ever after:
Her pal, Jonathan Cheban, reveals that ‘Kimye” are getting engaged, but first she must rid herself of herself of that pesky husband she had for 72 days, Kris Humphries.
“It would be great [if Kim and Kanye get married]!” Jonathan Cheban tells Life & Style at Gabrielle’s Angel Foundation 2012 Angel Ball in NYC on Oct. 22. “She needs to get divorced first, though. When that guy [Kris Humphries] is done playing games, I guess she’ll get engaged.”
As for the “games” Jonathan’s referring to, he adds, “Kim doesn’t really pay attention to [her relationship with Kris] anymore, so she just lets it go and she’s happy. It’s yesterday’s news.”
Oct. 31 will mark one year since Kim filed for divorce from Kris, after just 72 days of marriage. The pair is currently hashing the divorce out in court.
Happily, Kim has moved on with her life and found a companion in Kanye, whom she began dating in April. “I can’t even think about being with anyone else than the man I’m with,” she’s said about her longtime pal turned beau.
So if the superstar couple ever do tie the knot, will Kim share her special day on TV like she did with Kris? Not likely.
“He’s a little more private,” Jonathan says. “He films with Kim, but I don’t think he would do his own full Kim and Kanye show. He’s very private.”
