Lincoln leads the Oscar pack

The awards season is upon us and there is no greater bastion than the Academy Awards.

Earlier Thursday Seth MacFarlane and Emma Stone announced the nominees for the 85th annual Academy Awards from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ headquarters in Beverly Hills.

The name that kept on coming up was Lincoln, which scored an impressive 12 nominations, including a nod for Best Picture, Best Director Steven Spielberg, Best Actor Daniel Day-Lewis and Supporting Actress Sally Field.

Les Misérables scored nine and Argo picked up seven nominations.
