Meet the man, 22, who was dumped by his girlfriend, but is now laughing all the way to the bank after winning $30 million - Sandeep Singh from Cape Cod was working two jobs to support his family, but now he is a multimillionaire after landing the Mega Millions jackpot

Life hasn’t been easy for Sandeep Singh. After his dad passed away, he was forced to work two jobs in an effort to support his family.

He started working at McDonald’s as a teenager and he has since been working at Best Buy and also as a teller at Citizens Bank

And his girlfriend recently dumped him.

But on Tuesday night, Lady Luck shined upon him and it was revealed that he won $30.5 million in the Mega Millions jackpot.

The 22-year-old from Cape Cod became a multi-millionaire by splitting the $61 million prize with a ticket-holder from California.

While the face value of his prize is $30.5million, he chose to take a lump sum of $23 million – which  left him with a total of $16 million after taxes.

But don’t think he will be splurging on luxury items– he intends to pay off his mom’s mortgage.

“My mom needs the help and my family could use it, so God definitely helped us out at the right time,” he said.

And he intends on returning to college [Singh studied computer science for two years at Cape Cod Community College and hopes to use some of the money to get his bachelor’s degree in business].

But what of his recent heartbreak?

‘She broke up with me,” he said. “But right now, I’m not really worried about it. I was heartbroken at  first, but now I am getting over it.”
