Aaaah, the “America Dream”: The words that now conjure images of the seemingly impossible things to obtain such as that home with the white picket fence, financial and job stability, a retirement fund…
But if you had it all, what price tag would you put on your own variation of the modern interpretation?
One man is selling his off for the measly (cough) sum of $3.5 million.
“I’m selling my American dream on eBay,” Shane Butcher of Tampa Bay, Fla., happily told ABCNews.com.
The 29-year-old says that his “American dream” includes the three fully equipped and stocked video game stores he owns, a two-bedroom waterfront townhouse, a waterfront rental condo, three cars and two kayaks.
But there are some things off-limits.
“There are some things that aren’t included. My dog, for instance. My wife and child aren’t included either,” Butcher said.
And where did he come up with the idea of auctioning off his life? He says it heard of similar sales on eBay and says he is excited about transferring his personal success into the hands of another.
“If you build a castle, it’s awesome to sell it and then start building another one, hopefully bigger and better,” he said.
