New footage emerges of Todd Akin claiming that abortions are carried out on ‘women who are not actually pregnant’ - The a nominee for Senate in Missouri, who has already cause a furore with his rape comments, also declares "we have terrorists in our own culture called abortionists." Ladies and gentleman, we have a winner– a winner for the most misguided candidate currently in the political race.

Step forward Todd Akin.

In August, Akin caused a furore when he told the Jaco Report that it was rare for a woman to become pregnant after being raped.

“First of all, from what I understand from doctors, (pregnancy from rape) is really rare,” he told  KTVI-TV.

“If it’s a legitimate rape, the female body has ways to try to shut that whole thing down,” he said.

Now, in new footage from January 22, 2008, in a speech on the House floor, Akin says that “slavery was un-American, but abortion is even more so.”

He goes on to talk about the war on terror, saying “we have terrorists in our own culture called abortionists”.

And he adds that “abortions are performed on women who are not actually pregnant”.
