She found herself back in the headlines this year when she supposedly coached Katie Holmes through her divorce from Tom Cruise.
But Nicole Kidman is setting the record straight– and laying her soul bare in the latest issue of Who magazine in Australia.
“I never spoke to her. I wish all of them well, but I was not involved in any of that,” Kidman says.
On her own marriage to Cruise, the 45-year-old says that she married “too young and too fast” (she was only 23 at the time).
But their divorce after 10 years of marriage hurt her badly, sending her into a deep seeded depression.
“There were times following [the divorce] when I thought, ‘Wow, this is the loneliest, loneliest existence,’ ” Kidman revealed. “But with Tom, it was a fantastic decade. I wish all of the people that have been involved in my life well, because it’s very important to me to be in a place of forgiveness and love.”
Having children weighed heavily on the Australian-born star’s mind.
“I had tried and failed and failed and failed,” she said frankly. ”Not to be too detailed, but I’ve had an ectopic pregnancy, miscarriages and I’ve had fertility treatments. I’ve done all the stuff you can possibly do to try get pregnant.”
But in the end, Kidman got her happy ending: She married crooner Keith Urban and the two have two girls, Faith and Sunday Rose.
“All my kids are highlights of my life,” she says. ”They are all of my biggest joys.”
