We previously wrote about the QVC Presents “FFANY Shoes on Sale” event, which takes place today, but on Oct.22, stars such as Nicole Richie, Kristin Cavallari and Katrina Bowden showed their support for the cause at an event at the Waldorf-Astoria in New York.
Richie, who is the creative director and style icon, is joining the fight against breast cancer as the PSA spokesperson, arrived at the Waldorf-Astoria hotel looking stunning with her hair pulled back in a high bun, wearing a long Scalan and Theodore red lace dress, black Christian Louboutin pumps and her signature House of Harlow 1960 jewelry.
Her secret on how to balance in those sky-high shoes? “There is no secret, you just need to learn how to walk!” However, the QVC designer isn’t the only one in her house with the shoe obsession, when asked who has the biggest shoe collection in her family, Richie joked, “my dogs!”
To Kristin Cavallari, this was more than just an event. Having a grandmother who struggled with breast cancer, it is a cause that is “near and dear to [her] heart”.
Cavallari sauntered into the party dawning a blank and white Alice and Olivia dress and sky-high black Chinese Laundry shoes; however, these high heels are no longer the new mommy’s typical outfit, “I’m not used to wearing heels this high anymore, I’m having to learn how to walk in them again! When you’re a new mom, comfort is the most important thing – all I wear are flats, leggings and sweaters!”
As for her new must-have fashion item, “Nursing tank tops, I live in them!” The new mother will have to wear layers of those sweaters while spending Christmas with husband Jay Cutler’s Family in Chicago. “My sister-in-law has an 7 month old, so it will be fun to spend the holidays with kids around!”
While 30 Rock’s Katrina Bowden is sad to see the classic comedy series come to an end this season, she was all smiles as she went shoe shopping at QVC Presents “FFANY Shoes on Sale”. One word to describe her shoe style: “Comfort! I always carry an extra pair of shoes in my purse”. And her Cerie character’s style doesn’t come far from that, Bowden claimed, “I got to wear Converses everyday!”
The QVC Presents “FFANY Shoes on Sale”, which sees proceeds going to benefit breast cancer research and education, airs on QVC today from 5pm to 8pm EST.
