Things have gone from bad to worse for Amanda Bynes.
After a week which saw her photographed smoking something out of a pipe, which she dismissed as tobacco, the actress’ car was impounded on Sunday after she was pulled over by police for driving with a suspended license.
The 26-year-old former Nickleodeon has been ordered by a judge not to drive after losing her privileges while facing a DUI charge and two counts of hit-and-run.
The incident was confirmed by police to PEOPLE.
“I can confirm that Amanda Bynes was cited at approximately 8:20 a.m. Sunday for driving with a suspended license,” Victor Gill of the Burbank Airport Police tells PEOPLE. “Her car was impounded and she received a misdemeanor citation. She was not arrested. I believe she was by herself. This occurred on Hollywood Way, just south of the main entrance to the Bob Hope Airport.”
She was seen as recently as Thursday driving around West Hollywood.
Despite her continued troubles (hell, even Lindsay Lohan has hit out on Twitter claiming that the police are being too lenient with Bynes), the actress has reportedly told pals that ”everything’s fine” .
According to TMZ, Bynes has told friends that things are being blown out of proportion.
But is worth noting that much like other stars before her, Bynes could very well be in denial.
And perhaps LIndsay Lohan has a point about authorities not being tough enough on her.
Lohan, known for her wayward antics, spent 23 days in jail after violating her probation agreement following a DUI.
Last night Lohan took to Twitter, writing: ”Why did I get put in jail and a nickelodeon star has had NO punishment(s) so far?”
She added: ”These are the moments that I appreciate my life experiences, living without regrets and Disney for supporting me as an actress-night all.”
