This Sunday all across the globe, mothers will be adored and cherished by their children.
For the past few weeks, we have been documenting Kellee Mulhern’s journey from thinking she was cancer-free to finding out last month, that was no longer the case.
With Mother’s Day firmly in our minds, we asked Kellee to pen a piece on how she intends to spend this very special day.
Hopefully, by sharing her personal battle, we can send a reminder to all, to never take their loved ones for granted.
She writes…
Cancer is not a curse… it is a spiritual journey. A journey that enables us to change for the better. It is the WILL within ourselves to want to change and heal… the WILL to LIVE!
While on my Stage 4, Breast Cancer journey for the second time in two years, I have learned to appreciate all that life has to offer. This Mother’s Day, I will be celebrating it with a different outlook on life. I normally walk the 5K “Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Walk” on Mother’s Day at the Mall of America.
However, this year my friends and family will walk for me. I am very blessed to have the love and the support they have given me. I am looking forward to Mother’s Day, so that I can celebrate LIFE with my mother, father, husband, teenage girls, and my sister and her family.
EVERY moment will count… as I NEVER take a single moment for granted!
