Last week, Samantha Brick set off an internet firestorm when she wrote a detailed piece describing how being beautiful is more a curse than a blessing.
Her article, which she penned for Britain’s Daily Mail, attracted a staggering 1.6 million hits on their website, MailOnline, and was picked up across the globe.
Many of the 11,000 comments online, attacked Samantha for what appeared to be a misguided sense of arrogance, and she was also lampooned for her looks.
Now, her husband, Pascal Rubenat, has given an interview to the same publication defending her “I’m so beautiful stance”.
You can read the article in its entirety here, but here is a snippet.
Well, first, he would like to make one thing clear. He agrees with Samantha. Wholeheartedly. Not only is she beautiful, he announces, to him she is the most beautiful woman in the world.
Gazing into the statuesque blonde’s eyes, he puts his arms around her and playfully pinches her bottom.
“Samantha is beautiful in every sense of the word,’ he gushes.
‘She is the most beautiful woman I have ever seen. She is beautiful physically and beautiful in her mind. She is also strong. I am very lucky indeed to have her.”
He also goes on to say, that he will defend his wife in whatever means necessary, if it comes to that.
“If I have to intervene violently, I will intervene,” Pascal says, ”I am here to protect my wife.”
He adds: “It is my role as a husband to comfort, console and support her.”
