As we all get older, birthday’s become more of a sense of dread, than excitement, and with his marriage to Katie Holmes having collapsed to the point of no return last week, perhaps Tom Cruise won’t be in the mood to celebrate today (Tuesday).
But removing the weirdness (for one moment) that has dogged him in the past decade thanks largely to his dedication to Scientology, it’s easy to forget that Tom Cruise was once Hollywood’s number one Top Gun, who had All the Right Moves.
With a flashier than flashier smile, Cruise won over millions of hearts with his pearly whites.
Stepping back in time, his celluloid career is the stuff of legends; even though his day-to-day-life at this present moment may not reflect upon the work he has done.
So, to mark his 50th birthday, let’s take a look at his Days of Thunder….
And as he summed it up best: “I’ve had a very interesting life. There are ways of handling the complexities. I’m willing to take on responsibilities as a father, as a producer, as an actor – and I enjoy that. I’ve always been changing and evolving and growing. There’s no pinnacle of power where you can sit back and rest.”
