Ah, married life is but a fairy tale for Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon who renewed their vows on Tuesday at the “Happiest Place on Earth.”

The over-the-top event was a cause of double celebration as Mariah and Nick celebrated five years of wedded bliss, as well as their twins’ 2nd birthday at Disneyland in California.

The whole clan dressed the part, with Mariah donning a fairy princess frock, Nick as Prince Charming and the twins rocking costumes identical to Mom and Dad.

Naturally, the couple renewed their vows right in front of Sleeping Beauty’s Castle.

“On our way to renew our vows,” Carey Tweeted. “I love you @Nick Cannon.”

According to Entertainment Tonight, Carey and daughter Monroe were picked up in a horse-drawn carriage from the Dream Suite at the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction. They were then taken to Main Street to meet up with Cannon and son Moroccan. The group all walked down the aisle together as one big happy family for the outdoor ceremony.

Meanwhile, Nick, 32, has not exactly denied reports that Mariah, 43, made be replaced on “American Idol” with former judge Jennifer Lopez in order to boost ratings.

Nick tells Life & Style of the speculation, “These rumors come from anywhere!”

Though Fox denied it, the buzz isn’t sitting well with Nick. “My wife is the biggest superstar in the world,” he tells Life & Style, on stands now. Speaking in the past tense, Nick says of Mariah’s time on the show: “I know she had a wonderful time on Idol.”

He was a standout contestant when he appeared on season six of “American Idol”, but stardom hasn’t exactly beckoned for Sanjaya Malakar.

And the proof of that is in the pudding.

In a photo obtained by In Touchthe 23-year-old is seen earning extra cash by performing in NYC subway stations. “He was singing ‘(Sittin’ on) the Dock of the Bay,’” an eyewitness, who recently spotted Sanjaya inside the First Avenue L station, tells the mag, on stands now.

Apparently he still has the musical chops (but not the crazy hairstyles) that won him instant fame and a seventh-place finish in 2007. “A handful of people did double takes,” notes the eyewitness. “The guy’s still a decent singer!”

After his stint on “American Idol”, Sanjaya made numerous television quest appearances on pop culture parody shows.

And now he’s singing for his supper.

She made her big debut on Wednesday night as an “American Idol” judge, but the role Mariah Carey relishes the most is that of wife and mother.

And now, the couple have finally settled into their roles as parents and are learning to embrace the unique personalities of their little ones.

“He’s my little buddy,” Mariah admits of her son, Moroccan. “We watch movies together. He can be a little more aggressive, but not in a bad way — he’ll give his sister a little tap when she’s trying to give him a hug. Monroe is just a sweetie.”

Regardless of their different personas, Mariah feels more adoration now than she ever has.

“I’m so in love,” the superstar admits of her new family. “Every moment is incredible.”

It’s getting nasty! Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj feud escalates

Mariah Carey fears for her life and Nicki Minaj is furious. Welcome to the current state of play between American Idol’s warring divas.

After their verbal smackdown on Tuesday at the Charlotte, N.C auditions, things have escalated and turned even nastier (if that is possible).

Carey has spoken to Barbara Walters and revealed that she has had to add extra security after she claims that Minaj did threaten to shoot her during their confrontation on Tuesday.

“She said she’s very concerned,” Walters continued. “She is with her twins.  She doesn’t feel that anything would happen, but Nicki is unpredictable, and  Mariah says she can’t take a chance and she has hired extra security.”

While the confrontation was captured on video, the threat of a gun was not.

But according to Carey, several “Idol” staffers, including hairdressers and producers, heard it,  too.

Minaj is furious about Carey’s interview and claims and has taken to Twitter to rant her feelings.

“Barbara walters  didn’t reach out from our team,” Minaj tweeted. “I guess we’re too  dangerous.”

But she was just warming up.

She later took to the social networking site to unleash her fury.

“I don’t call tmz n Barbara Walters cuz I stand on my own two  feet,” she added.“Never needed an army. God is  good. Insecurity is as cruel as the grave.”

Continuing on with her attack, she wrote:“ I guess it hurts 2 have  the producers tell u to ur face that nicki is the best judge we’ve had since  simon. Awww, poor u. Keep them lies cmn.”

“American Idol” producers are staying out of the duelling diva battle, most likely as behind the scenes, they are rubbing their hands with glee as they can foresee that the Carey/Minaj battle could equate to ratings gold for the show.

Watch: Nicki Minaj’s foul-mouthed rant at Mariah Carey

Mariah Carey was said to be far from pleased by the announcement that Nicki Minaj was filling in one of the empty judges seats on “American Idol”.

And it seems her worst fears that she and Minaj would clash, have come true.

In what is certainly a battle of the divas, Minaj launched a foul-mouthed  rant at Mariah Carey after she was reportedly called a ‘b***h’ by the Hero  singer

A source told Mouthtoears.com: “Nicki Minaj walked off of set because  Mariah Carey kept making jabs at her.

“Nicki’s manager and team convinced  her to  come back to the show. Mariah kept at it and called Nicki “a b****” and then  proceeded to cuss her out. Producers had to stop filming and  call it a  night.”

Show bosses cancelled filming in Charlotte,  North Carolina for the day on Tuesday after the huge blow up between the pair..

TMZ obtained the exclusive footage of the battle of egos, which you can see below….

Nick Cannon reveals the latest on his health, while Mariah is confirmed as the next American Idol Judge

He’s been plagued by health problems, but Nick Cannon opened up to guests at the launch event of American Gentleman Magazine Presented by Hennessy V.S  in L.A to reveal that he is feeling better than he has in quite some time.

He was overheard telling fans that his health had, indeed, been in jeopardy but he was now “doing much better,” as he’s been working hard to take care of himself and getting a lot of rest.

He seemed in great spirits, joking around with admirers and laughing. When a photographer asked him if wife Mariah Carey was indeed in talks to be a judge on the upcoming season of “American Idol,” he responded with a coy smile, saying, “I don’t know if she’s in talks, she talks to a lot of people. I’m not her manager, I’m her husband.”

And, as we know now, Mariah has just confirmed that she is taking Jennifer Lopez’s spot on the talent show.

The deal was announced with show biz flair at the Television Critics Association summer tour in Beverly Hills during comments by Fox Entertainment President Kevin Reilly about the exodus of Idol judges.

“I am so excited to be joining Idol,” Carey said via speaker phone. “First of all, I wanted to be there today and I wish I could’ve been there to tell you, but I think you know this all kind of just happened real quickly, so I can’t wait to get started in a couple months.”

The deal was said to have been struck earlier today.

Charlie Sheen on American Idol: “I’m genuinely interested”

By Evan Hosie

Charlie Sheen is at it again, this time promoting himself through his new show, “Anger Management,” on the Ryan Seacrest KISS-FM morning show. But is it true he’s considering being a judge on A.I.?

Sheen:  “It kind of came out of nowhere and I responded with a quote just to sort of check the temperature of it or test the waters, haven’t heard anything back. I guess it got some people curious.” It seems so out of the blue that it almost made perfect sense. I thought this could be a lot of fun. Seriously…I’m genuinely interested. It’s so different, it could be radical.”

 On Leaving Twitter:

“There was something about it that never felt right and it’s hard to tell 8 million people: ‘Hey, don’t take it personally.’ It just never felt like it represented who I am and who my fans have come to know me to be. I’ve always been a really private guy and then to be reporting every 14 minutes about what kind of dressing you had on your salad?! There’s enough information out there as it is, for me to keep fueling that…I don’t know. I just lost a passion for it, I guess that’s what it was.”On Being Back On TV:

“It’s exciting! It’s not just coming back on, but to come back on with something that I’m really proud of. It’s really exciting to see the response and to see how people are really tuning into this thing and just not being let down. It’s a readjustment, because I left a show they were quite fond of and got very familiar with these characters and these stories and then one day it just got shut off, but I’m excited to bring something back. It’s so different, you can’t even compare the two.”

So, is Charlie having fun on the new set? :

“I am. It was the first time in a while that I was excited to get to work and then sad to leave. There’s an environment there that welcomes all types of input, myself included. I don’t feel like just a hired gun or a puppet. Everybody there is striving for the same goal, which is really exciting.”

When she’s not shopping or testing beauty products, Evan Hosie writes gadget reviews for the site Popgadget.net.

Jennifer Lopez officially out of American Idol… Mariah Carey touted as her replacement

Yesterday, Steven Tyler quit “American Idol”. Today, Jennifer Lopez finally admitted that she would not be returning to the show for a third season.

Speaking on KISS- FM on Friday morning, she told her co-worker Ryan Seacrest that it was time to say goodbye to the show that resurrected her career again and renewed interest in her.

“I honestly feel like the time has come that I have to get back to doing the other things that I do, that I put … on hold because I love Idol so much,” she said.

“I could do Idol for the rest of my life,” she said, “but that would be giving up a bunch of other things. We had an amazing run.”

Speculation is rife that Mariah Carey could be her replacement, with sources saying that she is in “serious” talks to appear on the Fox show.

American Idol in chaos, as now Steven Tyler quits

With ratings down, and rumors long swirling that Jennifer Lopez wouldn’t return to “American Idol” for a third season, her admission earlier today that she thinks it’s time to move on, came as little surprise.

But what was a surprise and seemed to come as a bolt out of the blue, is the news just in that Steven Tyler has revealed he too will not be returning to the show.

“After some long, hard thoughts, I’ve decided it’s time for me to let go of my mistress ‘American Idol’ before she boils my rabbit,” Tyler said in a statement. “I strayed from my first love, Aerosmith, and I’m back — but instead of begging on my hands and knees, I’ve got two fists in the air and I’m kicking the door open with my band. … The next few years are going to be dedicated to kicking some serious ass.”

Mike Darnell, president of alternative entertainment at Fox, said that it has been a “tremendous honor” to have Steven on the show. “We are very sad that Steven has chosen to focus more on his music,” said Darnell, “but we always knew when we hired a rock ‘n’ roll legend, he would go back to the music.” He added that they would love to see Tyler back on the show in the future.

Which brings us nicely to our segue: Is there a future for “American Idol”?
