Totally Tuned in: Every dog has its day….in the spotlight

It wasn’t all political speeches and democratic conventions this week. Dogs had their day, on America’s Got Talent when the Olate dogs out-played their human competition and stole the hearts of Sharon Osborne (as well as a few million dog-lovers!)

Did Howard Stern Shock or Rock on America’s Got Talent?

His casting as the newest judge on America’s Got Talent raised some eyebrows, but on Monday night Howard Stern showed he has a heart of gold as he took his seat next to Sharon Osbourne and Howie Mandel.

“These executives at NBC must be out of their mind to take a risk on me,” he said during the show. 

And, earlier today, on a simulcast with Ryan Seacrest on KISS-FM, Howard talked about why he took the job (for fun, not the paycheck) , teased Ryan Seacrest,  why he now gets manicures (warning: TMI!) and one thing he hates about being on TV.

Does Howard Want to be More Relevant?
“Ryan, I want to be less relevant…the problem is I’m too relevant…I wanted to go hide,” Howard said. “I wasn’t looking to be more famous, I’m famous enough…I’m not looking for a paycheck.”
 
Does Howard Really Get Manicures?
“When I would make love to my wife, and I know that’s a disgusting thought to think about, she would complain about my nails that they were rough and they would cut her, and I can’t cut my nails. I don’t know why, but I’m just so bad at it. I went with her one day and I said, “ I want to get a manicure and I let them cut my toenails too.” I had it done, and now I go every week. But the shiny-buff I feel is too shiny. It looks too feminine.”
 
How Long Will Howard Agree To Be On “America’s Got Talent?”
“I don’t know. I’m trying it out this year, and I want to see if America likes it then…you know… it would influence me. I have a year deal, and an informal thing if I come back a second year.”

One Thing Howard Hates About Being On Television:
“One of the things that I hate about being on this new television show is that I don’t like the way I look. I’m not a handsome guy like Ryan. So I feel bad for the ladies that have to look at me, but I’m going to make up for it in being a wonderful judge.”

Through the celebrity keyhole: Take a tour of Howie Mandel’s Malibu mansion

America’s Got Talent judge and Deal or No Deal host Howie Mandel has a gorgeous Malibu, California home.

But the TV star still hasn’t found anyone to accept the $7.25 million deal for the two-story and nearly 6,000 square ft. property-  and it has been on the market since November 2011.

The house scores big for its large living spaces, high ceilings and sunny interior. Other great features include built in cabinet space, guest house, and large pool.
