The rumors that Kate Middleton is pregnant have been incessant ever since she and Prince William tied the knot last year.

Just this week, Jessica Hay, a childhood acquaintance of Kate’s, told Australian magazine New Idea that the Duchess is expecting and an announcement is imminent.

“It seems very traditional, but of course they’ll be happy with boys or two girls, they don’t want more. They’ve discussed it endlessly and don’t want to be older parents.”

However, Hay’s track record of cashing in on Kate gossip makes it unlikely that the Duchess would tell her anything personal at all.

Now, a report further debunks the news that Kate is pregnant– in fact, according to Life & Style, Prince William is currently in a position of having to choose between his work at Royal Air Force or starting a family.

Several insiders tell Life & Style, on newsstands now, that the duchess is keen on starting a family — which would require having her husband home and by her side and not 200 miles away.

“Kate wants to have a baby next year, but she doesn’t want to be left to raise their child by herself while William is away for weeks at a time,” an insider reveals in the new issue of Life & Style.

William has until the end of the year — approximately six weeks from now — to decide whether he will remain in the RAF or give it up to focus more on his royal duties and his family. And insiders say Kate has been urging him to choose to stay with her. “She doesn’t want them to be apart for that long [six weeks] ever again,” the insider tells Life & Style.

“Kate knows how much William loves the military,” the insider admits. So while Kate understands that leaving the service would be a sacrifice for William, deciding to start a family is a step they both need to be present for. “William doesn’t have long to decide,” notes the insider, “so the pressure is really on.”

Meanwhile, the British Ministry of Defence was yesterday forced to reset the user names and computer passwords of dozens of RAF staff following the embarrassing security blunder over pictures of Prince William.

Ten photographs of the future king in his role as a search and rescue helicopter pilot were published by St James’s Palace yesterday on the Duke’s website before being cleared by the MoD, the Daily Mail reported.

The pictures, taken by an RAF photographer, had been intended to show off a “day in the life” of the 30-year-old Prince on base as Flight Lieutenant Wales at RAF Valley on Anglesey, north Wales.
