Whitney Houston’s family is stepping into the spotlight and if the trailer for their forthcoming reality show “The Houstons: On Our Own” is anything to go by, expect a whole lot of drama.
Despite publicly denying she was engaged to brother-turned-boyfriend Nick Gordon, it appears that Bobbi Kristina is set to walk down the aisle.
In August, the 19-year-old daughter of the late singer, was given a giant sapphire stone surrounded by diamonds from Gordon, 22.
Despite wearing it on her ring finger, she and Gordon insisted that the ring was just a gift.
However, as you will see from the clip below that is not the case– and her family is none too pleased.
“The Houstons — On Our Own” premieres on October 24
The R&B star, who was previously married to Whitney Houston, tied the knot yesterday with fiancée Alicia Etheredge in Honolulu.
The 43-year-old was surrounded by family and friends, including his older kids Landon, 23, La’Princia, 22, and Bobby Jr., 19, as well as Brown and Etheredge’s only child together, Cassius, 3.
However, there was one noticeable absentee: Bobbi Kristina.
According to various reports, the 19-year-old opted to stay in New York and continue filming the reality show The Houston Family Chronicles instead of attending her father’s wedding.
Her absence will only help give more rise to the notion of the deep rift between Whitney’s family and Bobby Brown, who they blame for their daughter’s descent into substance abuse.
What does Bobbi Kristina’s no-show signal to you? Let us know….
Despite the glitz, the glamor, and the good and bad red carpet dresses, Sunday’s Billboard Music Awards became a night of tributes to some of music’s brightest stars who have recently passed away.
In one of the most heartfelt moments of the evening, Jordin Sparks performed Whitney Houston’s iconic hit “I Will Always Love You” and the camera could be seen panning on Houston’s daughter, Bobbi Kristina, who broke down in tears.
The 19-year-old then accepted the Millennium Award on her mom’s behalf.
“I really want to say thank you to everyone who supported us through it all,” she said.” Not just from when it was good but when it was bad, too. Thank you for showing that much love, because she deserved it…I’m just blessed to have been in such an incredible woman’s life. There will never be another one, ever.”
The awards ceremony also paid tribute to Donna Summers, who passed away on Thursday after a battle with lung cancer (Natasha Bedingfield sang “Last Dance” in honor of the Queen of Disco, though it was cut short); and Cee Lo Green performed the Beastie Boys’ “(You Gotta) Fight for Your RIght (to Party!)” in remembrance of MC Adam Yauch, who lost his battle with cancer on May 4.
And with the news that Bee Gees legend Robin Gibb passed away yesterday, the show’s co-host Julie Bowen said of Gibbs: “His voice and music of the Bee Gees will live on forever.”
Adele was the big winner of the night, winning 12 gongs, though she wasn’t in Las Vegas to pick up her trophies.
Other winners included Justin Bieber, Katy Perry and Taylor Swift.
Hilary Duff has revealed that her son, Luca “makes her smile every day”
The star opened up to Life & Style magazine about being a mom.
They write….
Three weeks after giving birth to her first child, son Luca, Hilary Duff is finding motherhood her most exciting adventure yet.
“The past couple of weeks have been the most joyful time,” she tells Life & Style. “Luca makes us smile all day, every day!”
Motherhood can have its difficulties, but luckily, Luca has been a great baby.
“I’m a bit short on sleep, but he has been the best behaved little boy,” she tells Life & Style. “We are so fortunate to have a strong, healthy and happy baby.”
Hilary, 24, and her NHL player hubby Mike Comrie, 31, who married in August 2010 after a nearly six-month engagement, welcomed their first child together on March 20.
“Welcome to the world Luca Cruz Cromie!” she tweeted on March 22. “Tuesday evening, we became proud parents of a healthy 7 pound 6 ounce beautiful boy. We are overjoyed and feel like the luckiest parents in the world. He is surrounded by so much love!!”
“Wow I can’t believe I have a baby! The most wonderful, sweet, adorable baby! Thank you for all the messages and well wishes! Love you all so much,” she added one day later. [Life & Style]
No wonder Bobbi Kristina has turned to Nick Gordon in her time of grief because she certainly can’t rely on her father Bobby Brown.
The singer was arrested in the San Fernando Valley on suspicion of driving under the influence, law enforcement officials have revealed.
The arrest occurred at 12:20 p.m. Monday at near the corner of Victory Boulevard and Wilbur Avenue, according to California Highway Patrol officer Mike Harris. Officers pulled him over for talking on his cellphone but then administered a field sobriety test, Harris said.
RadarOnline is reporting that they put him through FOUR sobriety tests, none of which he passed.
The arrest comes four days after the Los Angeles County Coroner’s office released the results of its autopsy of Brown’s ex-wife, Whitney Houston.
Perhaps he will be the next one checking into rehab.

It’s the romance that took everyone by surprise. And for how long Bobbi Kristina has been dating Nick Gordon, no one is sure as of yet. With the pair spotted out this week and her wearing what appears to be an engagement ring, rumors of an imminent wedding are growing at fever pitch.
But is Bobbi Kristina, moving too fast? We consulted Dr. Gilda Carle to share some of her wisdom about whether this relationship is a good or bad move.

Bobbi Kristina’s New Romance

Bobbi Kristina just lost a mom with whom she had a very close relationship. During times of grieving, no one should embark on a new relationship; grieving is naturally marred more by the emotion of the loss than by the clarity of the romance. A mature partner would know this, respect this, and give the grieving person alone time to heal.
Yet, it’s understandable why this vulnerable teen would latch on to a guy who was living in her home. She feels she can trust him and rely on him in her darkest need. While the two of them are not biologically related, they nonetheless have a “sibling familiarity.” By grandmother Cissy Houston’s outrage, it seems doubtful that Whitney would have encouraged the PDA’s this couple has been exhibiting. Surely, the public did not see them while Whitney was alive.
Bobbi Kristini is hurt and broken now. She must get help to regain her strength. While it would seem that this young man could be her strong arm to hang onto, he could also end up taking advantage of her vulnerability. I doubt if either of these young people are aware of the ramifications of the future. But it’s for this reason that loving adults and professionals should intervene.
UPDATE 2: They’ve sealed their love in a kiss: New photos of Bobbi Kristina and Nick….
UPDATE: And now she seems to be sporting an engagement ring….dear lordy, this is taking more twists and turns by the hour…
Everyone wants Bobbi Kristina to be happy, especially after the devastating loss of her mother. There’s no one who doesn’t.Period.
But, her relationship with Nick Gordon is raising some eyebrows. In fact, Whitney’s mother, Cissy has slammed the romance, telling TMZ: “What they’re doing is incestuous”.
Cissy has even requested that the Whitney Houston Estate get involved in an attempt to get him evicted from Whitney’s $1.2m Atlanta townhouse, where he is apparently currently living alongside Bobbi Kristina.
And there are fears that he is using her in her most vulnerable of moments.
What makes this so tricky is that Whitney raised Nick as her own son, taking him in at the age of 12 when his father went to prison.
We’re quite divided on this subject and we need to hear your thoughts because it certainly is an unusual situation, where the line is incredibly blurred.
On Sunday night, we heard Bobbi Kristina speak out about the loss of her mother, Whitney Houston.
And, it appears that she has had a sturdy shoulder to lean on during these difficult times: Nick Gordon, who has lived in Whitney’s home since he was 12-years-old, and who the singer thought of as a son.
But, in the past few weeks Bobbi Kristina and Nick’s relationship seems to have moved on, with rumors that they are now dating.
Nick, himself seems to have added more fuel to the fire about their relationship status, by posting this photo of the pair on twitter, and writing: “Yea we got a little closer and what!!!”
Perhaps, given that they have both loss the most significant woman in their lives, they’ve turned to the only other person they trust: Each other.
Even though everyone was watching with bated breath for Bobbi Kristina’s first interview, it was Patricia Houston who turned out to provide the most heart wrenching glimpse into the real Whitney Houston, and those final last days with her exclusive interview with Oprah.
Bobbi Kristina’s bravery and maturity was astonishing, considering she’s only 19-years-old. as she made pains to state that her mother is still with her and that she hears Whitney’s voice telling her to “keep moving”.
“I can sing her music but to hear it right now — I can’t” she said. “I can hear her voice talking to me in spirit: ‘Keep moving baby, I got you.’ I can always hear her with me.’”
Even though Patricia said that she felt “the handwriting was on the wall, I would be kidding myself otherwise”, she reinstated what we have already reported: Whitney had turned a corner.
“Things were really changing with her,” Patricia revealed.
On an additional note: We really do think that Bobby Brown needs to step up and be there for his daughter- calling her every few days is not enough.
Let us know what you thought of Oprah’s interview….
Whitney Houston’s sudden death surprised the world. But perhaps the saddest part of her sudden passing is the common theme that is emerging amongst those who knew her, and they all say the same thing: She had turned a corner, put her drug woes aside and was ready for a successful comeback.
This morning, Tiffanie Dixon,Whitney’s longtime hair stylist, told Ann Curry on the Today show, that in the last few months of her life, the singer had a “comethrough”.
She also said that Whitney’s death on February 11 was especially surprising because she had been in such a good mood all day.
“She was happy that day we were going to go to the party. We talked about looks and what she was going to wear … and what we would do with that evening. She seemed very happy that day,” Tiffanie recalled.
Tiffanie, who worked with Whitney and Bobbi Kristina since 2006, also recounted the chaotic scene that occurred that Saturday afternoon at the Beverly Hilton, and denied reports that she was the one who found the star in the bathtub, insisting that she saw the body ”from afar” .
“At that moment, all I could think about was, ‘Find someone to help,’” she told Ann. “‘Cause I didn’t know what was going on exactly at all.”
She added, “Everything just kind of happened so fast. I was due to report to work, and we were doing a party that evening, and I heard something as I was going in the direction where I needed to go, and I was instructed to call for help, and that’s what I did.”
Tiffanie, who described Whitney as an “amazing person” and “America’s princess”, expressed her concern for Bobbi Kristina.
“I’m sure that everything is going to be different,” she said. “She’s still a baby, she’s still a child and she’s lost her mom. … I can just really pray for her and hope she surrounds herself with positive people.”
