Posts about Chad Kichula

Profile: Meet Chad Kichula, the man being touted as the new Bruce Springsteen

He could be painted as your average guy next door: The small-town boy married with kids.

But “average” isn’t a word that springs to mind when it comes to Chad Kichula’s exceptional musical talent.

The Canadian-born singer is setting the music industry alight with his unique vocals, which are drawing enviable comparisons to such greats as Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan and Johnny Cash

Chad made his mark in the music scene back in 2009 with his hit song, “Another Love”, which he had to sell his truck for in order to create and pay the music bills, and now he has released his latest offering “A Fire”, which has been applauded by fan and critics alike.

We had a chance to catch up with this extraordinary talent and below you will find our interview with him where he shares his passion, inspiration and hopes for the future.

Celebzter: How did you first get into music?

Chad: I was bought a guitar at 9.  I remember playing along to my uncle’s old records, and to pretty much anything that I could find.

Celebzter: When did it go from a hobby to a full-time profession?

Chad:  Well it’s not a full-time profession.  I wish it was, but I work to pay for my music and to pay the bills.  So I have a day job cutting and pruning trees, so at night I can play, write and record my music.

Celebzter: When did you realize that music was your calling in life?

Chad:  Music has always driven, and influenced me since I can ever remember. It’s always been in me to appreciate music, but I guess it took years to develop the ability to write and perform it.

Celebzter: You hail from a small town in Canada and are married with kids, you very much represent the average person, do you agree?

Chad: I hope so. I also like to think that most people have dreams to be more than what’s been laid out before them.  There’s nothing wrong with being “average”, but there’s more out there to be had.  And I want my piece of that pie, like everyone else.

Celebzter: How have you stayed true to your blue-collar roots?

Chad: Every morning I put on my steel-toed boots and hard hat. I have been doing so for over 10 years now, and it’s been good for me.

Celebzter: You’ve been compared to Bruce Springsteen, you must be honored by that comparison? And what do you think of his musical legacy that he has imparted upon generations and generations?

Chad: It’s awesome to have my music compared to Bruce’s!  His legacy is that he’s always been able to connect with people on a personal level. He understands your fears, your desires, your challenges, your losses, and your dreams.  Not only that, but through his music he also lets you into his life.

Celebzter: What inspires you when you are writing music?

Chad: Everything. I’m inspired by challenges, personal experiences, fantasies, movies, music…really anything that makes me react and then write.

Celebzter: Who are your musical icons?

Chad: Springsteen, Cash, The Stones, Steve Earle, and the Black Keys…but that’s just the short list.  If you asked me again I might come up with a different five artists.

Celebzter: How much does your new album “A Fire” represent you and your personal life?

Chad: It is my life, with the exception of a couple of tracks.  But even in those, there’s still a piece of me in them.  I wanted to write and record an album about me and the folks like me.  Everyone has a story and I guess A Fire is my story.

Celebzter: Where would you like to be in five years?

Chad: Still playing music.  Wherever it may take me, is where I’d hope to be.

Listen to the hit track “Blue-Collar Man” below…. we sure you too, will become a fan after hearing it!
