Not everyone, it seems, is a ”Belieber,” if Sunday night is anything to go by.
Justin Bieber found himself on the receiving end of a chorus of boos as he accepted the fan-voted milestone award at the Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas.
And the negative response to him was said to be even louder in the arena than what it sounded on television.
Bieber’s response? To continue to implore that he is the real deal.
“I’m 19 years old,” he told the crowd in accepting the final award of the night. “I think I’m doing a pretty good job.”
“This is not a gimmick,” he went on to say. “I’m an artist, and I should be taken seriously. This other bull should not be spoken of.”
Meanwhile, he still does have one fan — he was spotted sharing a brief kiss with Selena Gomez backstage at the awards. Taylor Swift, however, seemed grossed out by it, sticking her tongue out in either mock or real disgust.
The other talking point from Sunday’s ceremony was R&R up-and-comer Miguel, whose leap into the audience pit saw him land on a fan. The sole of his leather boot landed into the head of one women and his crotch into the face of another.
Evel Knievel he ain’t. Thankfully, the fan in question is ok.
