He is known for being outspoken and brash. Now, Donald Trump is letting the world know his thoughts on the Kate Middleton topless photos scandal.
The mogul took to Twitter to essentially claim that the Duchess should have been more careful.
“Kate Middleton is great – but she shouldn’t be sunbathing in the nude – only herself to blame,” he tweeted.
He then proceeded to add: “Who wouldn’t take Kate’s picture and make lots of money if she does the nude sunbathing thing. Come on Kate!”
The big mouth businessman also spoke out about the controversy on Fox and Friends, saying: “While we’re all fans of Kate, can you imagine why she would ever be out in the nude?
“Why would she be standing in the nude in a swimming pool or wherever she was. She’s Kate. It’s terrible what they did, it’s terrible to take pictures, but boy, how can you do a thing so stupid?”
His comments come after Kate and Prince William won a landmark legal case against France’s Closer magazine to block further publication of “highly intimate” topless photographs.
His anger could not be hidden despite the flashbulbs going off as he stepped out today to visit Malasia’s largest mosque, in central Kuala Lumpur.
And it is unsurprising that Prince Williams is seething– now, just like his mother before, his wife has faced the worst invasion of privacy.
As he and Kate Middleton did their best to leave the scandal of those topless photos of the Duchess being published in French magazine Closer to one side, the palace on the other hand, issued a strongly worded statement, comparing the publication of the photos to the equivalent of the hounding of Diana.
“Their Royal Highnesses have been hugely saddened to learn that a French publication and a photographer have invaded their privacy in such a grotesque and totally unjustifiable manner, “a St. James’s Palace spokesman says,
“The incident is reminiscent of the worst excesses of the press and paparazzi during the life of Diana, Princess of Wales, and all the more upsetting to The Duke and Duchess for being so,” the statement continues. “Their Royal Highnesses had every expectation of privacy in the remote house. It is unthinkable that anyone should take such photographs, let alone publish them.”
Adding that officials acting on their behalf are considering legal options, the statement says: “The Duke and Duchess remain focused currently on their Tour of Singapore, Malaysia, Solomon Islands and Tuvalu on behalf of HM The Queen.”
Let’s not forget that the topless photos come on the back of Harry’s embarrassing antics ( though Kate’s scenario is decidedly different).
And, there is also the buzz (again) that she is pregnant with the couple’s first child.
Closer magazine’s French editor Laurence Pieau, believes their publication has done nothing wrong.
“These photos are not in the least shocking, “ she said. “They show a young woman sunbathing topless, like the millions of women you see on beaches.”
She refused to say how much she had paid for the photographs.
