Beautiful, smart….and named after the woman who shot J.R Ewing in the cliffhanger to end all cliffhangers. Yes, it turns out actress Krysten Ritter’s parents were so inspired by that now infamous TV scene that they named her after Kristin Shepard (played by Mary Crosby) in the “Who Done It?” episode which aired on November 21, 1980. They just chose to spell her name differently, obviously.
“No one knows this, but my parents named me after the woman who shot J.R, ” she revealed when we sat down with her in a private room at the Hudson Terrace.
“Nobody knows that. You’re the first,” she added.
How did we discover this? Well, we brought up the subject of how much we were enjoying the return of “Dallas” on the small screen (aren’t you?)
Exceptionally stunning in real life, Ritter revealed that she is relishing in her latest role as the resident bitch Chloe McGruff in the ABC comedy ”Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23″.
“I love playing a bad character, ” she says. “You get to act in a way you never would in real life and I have all these fabulous clothes to wear. It’s the best of both worlds.”
Ritter kicked off her Safe Breath summer at Dentyne’s Split2Fit Summer Night Out at Hudson Terrace in New York on Thursday, June 28.
