Remember the 80′s? We do fondly. And what helped defined the era was a little band called Duran Duran.
Fast forward to today and these bastions of pop are still going strong, which was evident when they played last night in front of 3,000 lucky fans for the Trident “See What Unfolds Live” concert at Terminal 5 in New York.
Yesterday we posted a Q & A with DJ Steve Aoki , and we manged to snap a picture prior to the concert. [He's a sweetheart]
We also caught up with The Bachelorette’s Roberto Martinez, who refused to comment upon the incessant rumors that he is the next Bachelor.
Hanging with J.P. Rosenbaum, he was somewhat taken aback when we asked why he hasn’t found his perfect woman yet.
“It’s not because i can’t,” he said.
We asked him to name the five attributes he looks for in a woman, and he named one: Authenticity.
And, yes, ladies, he is hot!
But Bachelors aside, the real highlight of the evening was those good old British boys: Duran Duran. And the remix of ”Hungry Like The Wolf: Steve Aoki vs. Duran Duran had the crowd on its feet.
You can live like we did last night by downloading the single here.
And become “Notorious” by watching this clip. One of the best NYC moments ever!
He’s regarded as one of the world’s great DJ’s, and we got a chance to catch up with DJ Steve Aoki ahead the Trident See “What Unfolds” with live concert tonight, which will see him team up with those 80′s legends Duran Duran at New York’s Terminal 5.
Here’s out Q & A with him…
Celebzter: Can you tell us how you got involved in the Trident “See What Unfolds” concert?
DJ Steve Aoki: I was really excited when Trident approached me about doing this. I grew up listening to this band so to be able to work on a remix of such a classic song is really an honor. I’m a little scared but happy and excited about it all at the same time.
Celebzter: How did you become involved in working with Duran Duran? We know you’ve done some remixing for them…
DJ Steve Aoki: Yes, I am really excited about this project. It’s actually a lot of pressure because I am not only remixing one of their iconic songs but I am rewriting it along with them so it’s actually like a whole new song.
Celebzter: What can we expect from the show on Wednesday night?
DJ Steve Aoki: The special show is going to be Wednesday June 20th at Terminal 5 in NYC. It’s going to be really great. I will be performing the remix of an iconic song with a surprise group and then performing a few songs on my own. Trident is giving away tickets to the show for free, which is really cool, on the Trident Gum page on Facebook.
Celebzter: How would yo describe your sound?
DJ Steve Aoki: I don’t really have one way to describe it. I’m influenced by all sounds, including dance music.
Celebzter: Which artists do you admire?
DJ Steve Aoki: Everyone from Freddy Mercury to Zack de la Rocha to Bruce Lee.
Celebzter: What’s up next for you?
DJ Steve Aoki: My world tour continues (the dates are on my web site), and I have four music videos coming out followed by a collaboration with Knife Party.
