She has managed to turn her celebrity status into an enormous money-making machine.

But it is pretty evident which role brings Jessica Simpson the most happiness — that of being a mom.

In this exclusive behind-the-scenes video from Jessica’s show “Fashion Star,” the singer-turned-entrepreneur beams with pride as she shows off her daughter Maxwell to the crew.

“Isn’t she cute?” Jessica gushes over the 11-month-old tot. ”She’s my little munchkin.”

The pregnant 32-year-old recently revealed she is expecting a baby boy with fiance Eric Johnson while chatting live on Jimmy Kimmel’s talk show.

“The crazy thing is I never knew a wiener could make me nauseous,” she quipped, before realizing she had just made a major slip of the tongue.

She added: “Well, I guess I just told the world that I’m having a boy!”

Joe Simpson’s creepy gift to Jessica

In Touch is reporting that Jessica Simpson now has earrings to match her engagement ring — and not from her hubby!

They write;

The singer’s dad, Joe Simpson, 54, gave his daughter a pair of ruby-and-gold hoop earrings from XIV Karats in Beverly Hills. “They had to search for the perfect rubies since the gems on her ring are vintage and rare. Joe wanted an exact match,”  an insider tells the new issue of In Touch, adding “The gift brought Jess to tears.”

Insiders agree that “Papa” Joe adores daughter Jessica, 32, and went all out. “Jess and Eric thought it was the most thoughtful gift,” says the source.

Like we said, maybe it is just us that finds the concept of a father buying his daughter earrings to match her engagement ring, a little peculiar.

Jessica Simpson on marriage plans: ‘We’ve had two different wedding dates, but he keeps knocking me up’

Over the Christmas period, rumors of a wedding between Jessica Simpson and Eric Johnson gained momentum.

But as it turns out, the announcement Jessica made was that she was expecting for the second time.

Now the star is revealing that she and Eric, who have been engaged now for two years, have tried to marry twice, but due to her falling pregnant, the couple have had to postpone their plans.

“We’ve had two different wedding dates, but he keeps knocking me up,” Jessica revealed when she appeared on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno”  on Tuesday night.

“We’re doing it very backwards, I know… I’ll just keep my legs crossed, I guess, this time,” she joked.

The 32-year-old also said that she was shocked to discover she was expecting again, since daughter Maxwell is only eight months old.

“Apparently it was a part of God’s plan for my life. I was extremely shocked because I was going through a lot of hormonal changes, trying to get back to the old, vibrant Jessica. You know, it was kind of like a one-night stand. And it happened, all over again!”

This time around, Jess says she is taking a healthier eating approach and admits she put on ”a lot more than doctors would recommend” when she was pregnant with Maxwell. [Jess piled on 50lbs]

“I was really happy to be pregnant and I didn’t ever step on the scale. I didn’t realise you could gain that much weight that quickly,” she explained. ”I didn’t really make any healthy good decisions.”

Jess has a new sitcom in the works with NBC, which she will produce and star in.

“I will be playing myself, which is pretty easy,” she told Leno about the show that is based on her life.

Making room for a growing family? ‘Pregnant’ Jessica Simpson puts an offer on Osbournes’ $13 million home

She’s been mum on the endless speculation and reports that she is pregnant with her second child, but as they say, actions speaker louder than words.

 And looking for a bigger home certainly could signal that Jessica Simpson is expecting baby number two.

Life & Style is reporting that Jessica has made an offer on Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne’s $13 million Hidden Hills, Calif., house.

 “Jessica wants a new place, a sort of fresh start,” a friend of the singer/fashion designer tells the new issue of Life & Style, on stands now. “When Eric moved into Jessica’s house, it was always with the understanding that they would get a new place together.”

The couple — who got engaged in November 2010 — currently live in Jessica’s Beverly Hills home with their daughter, Maxwell, and are looking forward to starting over. “Jessica’s house is very ‘shabby chic’ and romantic, it’s just not man-friendly. So they want a new house they can decorate together — a place they can call their own,” the friend shares.

And the Osbourne’s pad certainly fits the bill: The light-filled 10,000-square-foot house features six bedrooms, 10 bathrooms, two offices, huge walk-in closets, plus a recording studio and a stunning pool.

Jessica Simpson sure is the doting mom.

The star posted these too-cute-for-words shots on her Twitter account. The photos were taken during fiancé, Eric Johnson’s 33 birthday on Saturday.

“Last year at Daddy’s party, Maxwell was in my belly,” she wrote. “This year she’s in my arms!”

It seems that despite it being Johnson’s birthday, the real star of the day was 4-month-old Maxwell.

At only two months old, Maxwell Drew Johnson is already getting into the patriotic spirit.

In this too-cute-for-words photo, Jessica Simpson’s baby girl manages to even upstage the fireworks as the family celebrated America’s Independence Day.

Posting the snap on her twitter page, Jessica wrote: ”Hope everyone had a great 4th!”

The 31-year-old looked the picture of happiness with fiancé Eric Johnson as they doted over their newborn.

Meet Maxwell Drew Johnson: The $800,000 baby

She’s already amassed one billion dollars in sales of her fashion line, but that doesn’t mean that Jessica Simpson would just take the Beyonce route and post the photos of her newborn on the internet.

According to reports, the star netted $800,000  for the exclusive photos that appear in this week’s issue of People magazine.

Admittedly, it’s not the staggering amounts once paid to celebrities to show off their new babies, but in these times, it’s still a nice little side earner.

Coupled with the news that she has a deal with Weight Watches and is designing a maternity line, Jessica is laughing all the way to the bank.

But, she goes to great lengths to insist that motherhood is her greatest role yet. The 31-year-old who welcomed their daughter Maxwell Drew on May 1, gushes to People magazine: “Life has completely changed.”

She adds: “From how I sleep to what I think about, Maxwell has definitely taken over everything!”

In the issue, which is on stands now, Jessica poses up with fiancé Eric Johnson and their daughter, and reveal that they stare at their child “all the time”.

And despite saying that she “can’t get enough” of her tot, Jessica concedes that being a mom  is a “full-on job”.

We’re sure many working moms, without Jessica’s vast fortune, would be inclined to agree with this and hasten to add, that is a hell of a lot harder for them.

Here comes the bride: Jessica Simpson sets the date for her wedding

She just welcomed her first baby, Maxwell, a mere few weeks ago, and now Jessica Simpson is turning her attention to another pressing matter: Her wedding!

The reality star was initially due to wed Eric Johnson last November, but the new addition to their family meant that the couple had to put their nuptials on hold.

Now, a source is revealing to Life & Style magazine the exact date of when the couple intend to wed.

They report….

Jessica Simpson welcomed baby Maxwell just a few weeks ago, but the performer, designer and new mom has yet to slow down. Now she’s busy planning her nuptials!  An insider reveals exclusively to the new issue of Life & Style — on newsstands now — that Jessica and her fiancé, Eric Johnson, have set a new wedding date: Dec. 12, 2012 — 12/12/12.

The couple, who have been engaged since November 2010, reportedly had been planning to wed in Hawaii on Nov. 11 (11/11/11) but put their plans on hold after Jess discovered she’d become pregnant. With a new date set, the couple are still considering a laid-back beachside ceremony. “Jessica and Eric are eyeing the Hawaiian island of Kauai for the reception for around 60 family and friends,” the insider reveals.

But that’s not all the Fashion Star mentor has in the works. “Jessica is busy planning two very important events — Maxwell’s baptism and her wedding to Eric,” a pal reveals to Life & Style.

She’s hired celebrity party planner Mindy Weiss, who planned Jessica’s Charlotte’s Web–themed baby shower, as well as her 2002 wedding to Nick Lachey, to take care of the details for both extravaganzas!

Having a baby could net Jessica Simpson close to $4 million

Just this week, Jessica Simpson gushed about her daughter, Maxwell Drew Johnson, telling her Twitter followers just how much she adored being a mom

“I am so in love with baby Maxwell,” she wrote. “I want to cry every time I look at her. Motherhood is by far the best thing I’ve ever experienced.”

And, having her first child is also going to turn out to be quite profitable too, if new reports turn out to be correct.

Jessica, who already has amassed one billion dollars in sales of her fashion line, is said to have sold the first pictures of her baby girl to People magazine for $800,000.

Though the price isn’t as high as the glory days of the $11 million for the exclusive of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s twins Vivienne and Knox, the figure is still extraordinarily generous given the current declining sales of the celebrity weeklies.

Then, there are the mounting rumors that she is set to sign a $3 million deal with Weight Watchers as she endeavors to shed those whopping 40 pounds she gained while she was pregnant.

Oh, and when she does marry sportsman Eric Johnson, those photos will expected to be sold off too, to the highest bidder.

No one can ever accuse Jessica of being a ditzy blonde. Shrewd businesswoman, is more like it.

New details on Jessica Simpson’s daughter Maxwell Drew Johnson

Little Maxwell Drew Johnson has been in the world for less than a week, yet, we already feel we know everything about her.

Today, new reports emerged of who the tot resembles…..and guess, what? She takes after her famous mom.

Life & Style magazine report….

Jessica Simpson and her fiancé, Eric Johnson, finally welcomed daughter Maxwell Drew Johnson on April 30, and friends are already gushing about how much the newborn resembles her mom!

“She’s so cute!” a friend of Jessica’s who has seen the baby tells Life & Style. “And Maxwell looks a lot like her mom: same cheeks and nose! Her hair’s brown, but it’s getting blonder every day.”

Just one week into motherhood and Jessica is already a natural!  According to the friend, Jessica is breast-feeding Maxwell—who weighed in at 9 pounds, 13 ounces at birth—and is a pro at changing diapers! “She was born for this role,” the friend tells Life & Style about the singer and designer. “Jessica knows what she’s doing.”

And nothing can ruin Jessica’s mood these days. “This has been the greatest experience of our lives,” Jessica’s said.
