Bachelor’s Ben Flajnik and Courtney Robertson celebrate Mother’s Day together with his mom….could they really be giving their relationship a shot?

By Evan Hosie

It was a family day for Bachelor Ben Flajnik and Courtney Robertson, who arrived with Ben’s Mother, Barbara and sister Julia at the Thompson hotel for the Joico’s and Voli Light Vodkas “On the Go Beauty” Mother’s day event . They headed straight for the Bloody Mary bar and the reality  could, who have weathered their fair share of storms,  generally seemed to be happy together.

Other celebrities who turned out for the swank event included Lisa Rinna, who arrived with daughter Amelia Grey, who is almost 11 years old, but not too old for the Cuddle Covers lounge.

But the star of the day was Gia, Mario Lopez’s and Courtney Mazza’s  21 month old baby who was dressed  in a playful pink tutu. Mother Mazza dished about how she got her sexy figure back, and plans for the December wedding.

While her fiance got his hair styled by Gavert-Atelier’s Joico professional MikaFowler, Courtney, and her sister Julia made their mothers’  bracelets at the Blessed Charm booth. The NYX make-up booth was popular with everyone – kids and adults alike. Camille Grammar also popped  by for a moment but said she had to rush home because  her (and Kelsey Grammar’s son) Jude Gordon was fighting the flu.
All in all, it was a lovely family day.

T.G.I.F: Time to Get Lucid

 By Evan Hosie
It’s Friday again, thank goodness, and we’ve got a place for you that serves absinthe(!), the infamous alcohol that was nicknamed “la fée verte” (the green fairy) and was banned in the States for years. (It might have had something to do with the highly alcoholic content and the hallucinations of some imbibers.)Unless you know where you’re going, you’ll never find The Edison lounge bar in downtown L.A. , which is located in the bowels of a historic building that once served as a power plant.
Amongst the relics and artifacts, sip on the once forbidden spirit (since it contains no sugar absinthe is not classified as an alcohol) in either straight shots, or in a Pontarlier glasses, as it was always served up in France. Sample a “Lucid”, our favorite for the name alone – or one of the  4 other brands they stock
We have a home recipe that will make you Lucid in no time:
  1. Fill the reservoir of the glass with absinthe (or about 1/3 to 1/5 absinthe of the volume).
  2. Place an absinthe spoon and a sugar cube on top of the glass.
  3. Slowly drip ice water through the sugar until it dissolves completely. A green line will form at the top. As this line forms it is common to sample the absinthe by drinking off this green line to get the full impact of the absinthe’s qualities before the drink is fully diluted.
  4. The drink louches (turns white; this is due to the oils being soluble in alcohol but not in water) and new flavors come out.
Acclamations!
