Deflecting is a psychology term used to describe human behavior when people cleverly use one topic to draw away from what really matters. “Fat” is not a popular discussion people like talked about themselves, just mention being fat and people want to deflect and talk about if little green men live on mars. When I was asked to take a look at Kim Kardashian’s behaviour with all of her infamous shocking outfits she is wearing during her pregnancy, it took me about 2 fat seconds to come up an answer to what everyone is asking these days .. “Why is Kim dressing so ridiculous?” –because she is fat and the more you talk about her ridiculous clothes, she hopes the more you don’t talk about… how large she is getting.
Kim is clever enough to know how others in the media and fans focused in how big Jessica Simpson got during her pregnancy. Let’s face it, women don’t like to be called fat. Kim’s response is to dress so outrageous, she draws attention away from the fact.. .she is getting HUGE! Instead the matter of enlarging the rump and tummy, she has deflected and changed to “pay attention… I am dressing like a clown”. Now I don’t know about you, but most woman would much rather be accused of dressing ridiculous than being big. Simple as that.
