How do you get some of the biggest stars to come to your party? If this sounds like a set up to a joke, it is. Answer: Give one of them an award.
In this case, it was Barbara Streisand who was given the New York Film Society’s Tribute for its 40th Chaplin Award Gala at Lincoln Center.
The evening was hosted by Grey Goose, which provided the fizzy drinks at the cocktail reception where celebrity guests toasted the Award winner with the speciality concoctions : Grey Goose Le Fizz and Rose Noir.
At the Gala tribute, Barbra Streisand was serenaded by Wynton Marsalis on trumpet, by Liza Minnelli and by Tony Bennett, who closed the show with the song, “Smile”, fittingly a Charlie Chaplin song. The Award itself was presented by Bill Clinton who attended the tribute with his wife Hillary. The Ceremony was followed by an elegant dinner, where Hollywood royals Jeremy Irons, Blythe Danner, and Pierce Brosnan made their way around the room to catch up with friends.
Other guests in attendance included: Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones, Ben Stiller, last year’s honoree Catherine Deneuve, Donna Karan, Kris Kristofferson, George Segal, Amy Irving, and Barbra Streisand’s husband James Brolin.
Hillary Clinton is making her voice heard on same-sex marriage.
In a new video, released on Monday, the former secretary of state and potential 2016 presidential candidate (please, let that happen), stated that “gay rights are human rights.’’
“I believe America is at its best when we champion the freedom and dignity of every human being,’’ she said in a video posted by the Human Rights Campaign, a gay rights advocacy group.
“LGBT Americans are our colleagues, our teachers, our soldiers, our friends, our loved ones. And they are full and equal citizens and deserve the rights of citizenship,” she said. “That includes marriage. That’s why I support marriage for lesbian and gay couples.”
Her support for gay marriage comes after calls to end bans on same-sex marriage by her husband Bill Clinton, President Obama and even some prominent Republicans.
Her announcement comes as the Supreme Court is about to hear two landmark gay rights cases that advocates hope will make same-sex marriage legal in all 50 states.
A host of some of the biggest names in entertainment and politics saw their financial details or sensitive material published online on Monday.
Michelle Obama, Joe Biden, Hillary Clinton, Beyoncé, Britney Spears and Kim Kardashian were among the 17 famous stars who were targeted by website, exposed.su.
The security breach, which saw Social Security numbers and credit reports displayed, has even left the Los Angeles police and the FBI struggling with how to respond as they too were also targeted.
The Justice Department said Monday the FBI was investigating how the Social Security number, address and a credit report of FBI Director Robert Mueller ended up on the site.
The site’s main page, titled “The Secret Files,” has a picture of a teenage girl in zombie-like makeup shushing the viewer. Music from Showtime’s “Dexter” plays in the background as visitors are invited to click on a celebrity’s name and receive info including addresses, Social Security numbers, mortgage accounts and credit card numbers and bank accounts.
Some of the pages feature embarrassing pics of the celebs and political heavyweights.
“If you believe that God makes miracles, you have to wonder if Satan has a few up his sleeve,” the website says.
Social Security numbers allegedly belonging to Mel Gibson, Jay-Z and 15 others matched records in public databases.
Ashton Kutcher, Paris Hilton, Donald Trump, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Hulk Hogan and Sarah Palin were also targeted in the cyber hacking.
The site, which has an internet suffix originating in the Soviet Union, was still active as of Tuesday.

Hillary Clinton is not only on the mend, she has a lot of living still to do, according to husband Bill.
The Secretary of State was recently hospitalized for a dangerous blood clot near her brain, just two weeks after she fainted and suffered a concussion.
But according to Bill, she is “very, very healthy” and he joked that Hillary refers to him as her “first husband.”
“I tell her that, you know, she’s still got time to have three more husbands after me,” the former President said Tuesday at a health conference in La Quinta, Calif.
“So, I think she’ll live to be 120,” he joked.
He added of the 65-year-old: “She’s always been very, very healthy and she has very low blood pressure, very low standing heartbeat.”
Bill also addressed the much-touted possibility of his wife running for president in 2016
“My advice is that she should rest up and decide what she wants to do with the rest of her life,” Bill Clinton said, adding that Hillary is “the most gifted public servant I’ve ever known.”
There are fresh fears over the state of Hillary Clinton’s health after she underwent emergency treatment for a blood clot Sunday night at a Manhattan hospital.
Doctors discovered the blood clot while conducting a medical exam on Sunday, Clinton spokesman Philippe Reines said.
Earlier this month, the Secretary of State suffered a concussion when she fainted while battling a stomach bug and hit her head. Doctors said the clot stems from the concussion.
She was admitted to New York-Presbyterian Hospital Columbia, where she was being treated with anti-coagulants.
Reines said Clinton, 65, will stay in the hospital for at least 48 hours so her medication can be monitored closely. He said physicians are worried about “other issues associated with her concussion” but declined to elaborate.
According to the NY Daily News, Clinton has a history of blood clots. In 1998, a clot was found behind her right knee and she was put on a blood thinner, but stopped when her health improved.
“That was the most significant health scare I’ve ever had,” Clinton told the Daily News in 2007.
Clinton had been recovering at her Chappaqua,Westchester County, home. She planned to return to the State Department this week.

This photo captures a loving wife watching her husband wage a war for the American Presidency.
ABC News’ senior White House correspondent Jake Tapper tweeted this snap of Hillary Clinton watching Bill’s DNC speech in Charlotte last night.
The Secretary of State was 9,930 miles away in Timor Leste, but an aide provided the details of how Hilary reacted to the speech that has everyone talking.
FROM AN AIDE TRAVELING WITH SECRETARY CLINTON: “President Clinton’s speech nominating President Obama started while Secretary Clinton was meeting with the Prime Minister of Timor Leste (the 109th country she’s been to as SecState). The speech ended sometime during the press conference, right around the time she was asked a question about it. From the press conference she met with the staff and families of Embassy Dili. When that ended, she walked over to the Chief of Mission Residence (aka the ambassador’s house, which is part of the embassy compound), where she was able to watch her husband‘s speech on the ambassador’s home computer. Didn’t notice the brand, but it was a 17″ screen sitting on a wooden desk. For you technophiles that were curious as to how she was able to watch the speech, it was via SlingPlayer, which streamed a recording from a SlingBox connected to an aide’s home TiVo.
“So she was watching a feed from 9,930 miles away. The stream held up shockingly well, only a couple of hiccups along the way for a few seconds each time. Though when it happened nobody was sure it would resume, so there were a few moments of anxiety. … From the moment the introductory video came on, she was riveted – as were the members of the traveling party who watched with her. It’s safe to say that she loved every single minute of it. It’s possible she did not blink even once. When the speech ended, she was as surprised and excited as everyone in the arena and watching at home when President Obama joined President Clinton on stage. She had no idea it was coming, she cheered and practically jumped out of her chair.”
The U.S. Secretary of State is quickly becoming the First Lady of Cool.
Earlier this year Hillary Clinton’s image got an instant “coolness” overhaul after she was photographed dancing and chugging beer in Cartagena, Colombia.
Now, this new clip has emerged of Clinton whipping up a storm on the dance floor.
The 64-year-old broke out the moves last night while attending a dinner hosted by South African Minister of International Relations and Cooperation Maite Nkoana-Mashabane.
