Headed to court: Bethenny Frankel and estranged husband, Jason Hoppy, set to go face-to-face with a judge

Their divorce battle is turning as nasty as that of Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries, and now it is Bethenny Frankel and estranged husband, Jason Hoppy’s time to face off in court.

In Touch is exclusively reporting that the duo, who are currently in the process of a bitter divorce and custody battle over their daughter, Bryn, 2, headed to court this morning at 10:30 a.m.

The mag reports;

While Bethenny, 42, and Jason, 41, faced off behind the closed doors of a NYC courtroom, sources say tensions are running high as the pair battle over various details of the divorce.

The pair, who initially agreed to “continue to amicably co-parent” their daughter after their separation, have both since filed for sole custody of Bryn. In addition, Jason has also requested Bethenny pay all of his and Bryn’s medical bills and his lawyer fees. Jason wants to remain the beneficiary on Bethenny’s life insurance policy and demands “exclusive use” of their marital residence.

Bethenny and Jason announced their separation in December and the Skinnygirl entrepreneur filed for divorce just after the new year. At the end of January, Bethenny obtained the same legal team used by Katie Holmes during her speedy divorce to Tom Cruise, likely hoping for the same quick results.

With tons at stake and tensions high, Bethenny is eager for their disputes to be resolved.

“It’s just a very brutal, unnatural situation,” Bethenny recently said of her split. “Divorce is the most difficult thing you could ever go through in your entire life.”

Let’s see how this develops throughout the day.

Totally Tuned In: Bethenny Frankel breaks down while talking about divorce

article-0-16D4FBEC000005DC-369_634x339The pain of her failed marriage to Jason Hoppy is still very raw for Bethenny Frankel as was evident when she appeared on Wednesday’s “The Ellen DeGeneres Show”.

Wiping back the tears, the reality star said she felt like a”failure” because her fairytale didn’t have a happy ending.

“I feel like a failure. I really put it out there. I wanted the fairytale,” Frankel revealed. “I thought I had it. And [daughter] Bryn is my fairytale … Love is everywhere. It’s the road and you’re on it. It has peaks and valleys, and that’s what it is, but I don’t know how people go through this because this is excruciating.”

The 42-year-old split from Hoppy over the holidays after weeks of reports that their marriage had hit the rocks.

“It brings me great sadness to say that Jason and I are separating. This was an extremely difficult decision that as a woman and a mother, I have to accept as the best choice for our family,” she said in a statement at the time.

It’s official: Bethenny Frankel and husband Jason Hoppy split

It’s over for Bethenny Frankel and husband Jason Hoppy, with the pair calling it quits after two years of marriage.

With speculation about their union reaching fever pitch in recent weeks, Frankel announced the news of the split on Dec.23.

“This was an extremely difficult decision that as a woman and a mother, I  have to accept as the best choice for our family,” Frankel tells Us Weekly, adding that the situation brings her “great  sadness.”

“We have love and respect for one another and will  continue to amicably co-parent our daughter who is and will always remain our  first priority. This is an immensely painful and heartbreaking time for us,” she added.

Just last week, we brought you the report from In Touch magazine, where a source told the mag, that Frankel was consulting divorce lawyers.

“She told him they are done,” a source close to the couple tells the new issue of In Touch, on newsstands now. “She’s meeting with lawyers and just figuring out the next steps. It’s over.”

Adds an insider: “They’ve had their exit plan in mind for months. It’s really just a matter of when they’ll file.” Sources say that moment could be coming sooner rather than later. On Dec. 9 in NYC, a somber-looking Bethenny ran errands near the couple’s Tribeca apartment with their 2-year-old daughter, Bryn, in her arms — and without a wedding ring on her finger.

“This has been bubbling up for a year,” added a friend of Bethenny’s, whose marital ups and downs were chronicled on her Bravo reality series, “Bethenny Ever After”. “Over the summer they spent time apart. She lived in the Hamptons for six weeks with Bryn while Jason stayed home in New York.”

Bethenny, 42, met Jason, 41, in 2009, while filming the third season of The Real Housewives of New York and married just 16 months later. Originally, his calm, gentle demeanor complemented the reality star turned entrepreneur’s Type-A personality, but now a source says, “She’s more ambitious than he is.”

“Bethenny will never show it, but she’s devastated that it didn’t work,” says the friend of the self-proclaimed perfectionist. “She wanted it all — the career, the husband and the family.”

Report: Bethenny Frankel to divorce Jason Hoppy

Their marriage has been fraught with problems of late and it seems that Bethenny Frankel has exhausted all options in making her relationship with Jason Hoppy work.

So much so, the reality star is set to divorce Hoppy after two years of marriage, according to In Touch magazine.

“She told him they are done,” a source close to the couple tells the new issue of In Touch, on newsstands now. “She’s meeting with lawyers and just figuring out the next steps. It’s over.”

Still, sources agree that Bethenny and Jason both want what’s best for daughter Bryn. “Bethenny puts Bryn first and Jason is a great dad,” a friend of Bethenny’s tells In Touch. “They love that kid and will do anything to make her happy.”

While divorce rumors have been swirling around the couple in recent months, this time around we are inclined to believe it.

Bethenny: I’m not giving up on my marriage

Appearing on a reality TV show may seem glamorous, but more often than not, many relationships falter under the glare of the media spotlight.

As Bethenny Franklin has discovered of late. But the New York-based star insists she is committed to making her marriage to Jason Hoppy work.

Life & Style magazine have the details….

From a wedding to a baby to business prosperity, Bethenny Frankel’s wildest dreams have come true but the Bethenny Ever After star admits when it comes to her marriage to Jason Hoppy, it isn’t always a fairytale.

“It’s just hard,” the creator of SkinnyGirl healthy lifestyle products and mom to 21-month-old Bryn admits to Life & Style in an exclusive interview. “I often feel like I come across as the crazy one in the relationship. Once in a while, I want to be the good cop.”

In the new issue of Life & Style, on newsstands now, Bethenny opens up about navigating through the hard times on her way to happily ever after.

“Relationships are about acceptance,” Bethenny tells Life & Style. “Jason and I are very different; I have a strong personality and he’s more mellow. Plus, we got married in our late 30s, and you’re very set in your ways by then. It’s about trying to compromise when you can.”

But even through the tense times, divorce has never crossed her mind. “No. Marriage is a commitment,” Bethenny says. “We work at it every day.”
