Jessica Alba says she has a habit of self-diagnosing and perhaps this is not the best quality to have, as she recently discovered.
Appearing on Tuesday’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live”, Jessica revealed she went into panic mode last week as she feared she was having a stroke after looking up her symptoms on the internet.
“Basically I thought I was having a stroke last week. I really, really thought I was,” Jess revealed.
“It was 2.30 in the morning and I woke up and my hand started to go numb. The whole entire thing went numb.
“It was dead, I couldn’t move it. My whole arm went numb, I got cold sensations in the back of my neck to the front. I can’t move my face.”
“I texted my paediatrician. It’s my kids’ paediatrician, but it’s the only person who will answer me at 2.30 in the morning,” Jessica revealed.
“I texted him and I said, ‘I have these symptoms… it’s all going downhill!’ He was like, ‘You’re a little young for this…,’” she added.
The 31-year-old was eventually taken to a hospital for an MRI scan.
“They all said, ‘You had all the signs of a stroke if you were much older,’” she says, before being told she simply had carpal tunnel, a relatively common condition that causes pain, numbness and a tingling sensation in the hand and fingers.

*Bradley Cooper came solo to the Weinstein after party. Even though the Silver Linings Playbook star didn’t take home a Golden Globe, Cooper seemed very happy to be celebrating the night with friends.
*Rush Hour star, Chris Tucker was dancing the night away and mimicking the late Michael Jackson’s distinct moves.
* Golden Globes presenter, Kristen Wiig was dancing and laughing with Bill Murray on the dance floor at the Weinstein Golden Globe after party on January 13th in Beverly Hills. Wiig was overheard wishing Murray ‘best wishes’ in his future films. Murray later found Rosario Dawson and started spinning and dipping her to the music.
*Twilight star, Robert Pattinson was taking photos with female fans and getting cozy with Sienna Miller. Miller and Pattinson- who had a few drinks at the DeLeon Tequila exclusive event- seemed to share a personal conversation because the pair stayed in the cabana for quite some time before parting ways.
*Heidi Klum was chatting with celebrity stylist, Rachel Zoe and husband Rodger Berman at the Weinstein Golden Globes after party. The stylish trio sipped cocktails and danced to music.
*Kobe Bryant and on-again, off-again spouse, Vanessa Bryant had a few cocktails at the bash. The duo seemed a little stressed and left shortly after arrival.
*Golden Globe winner and “Homeland” star, Damien Lewis seemed in good spirits as he arrived to the Weinstein Golden Globes after party with his wife at the Beverly Hilton. Lewis was heard whispering and nudging his wife to dance with him. She finally gave in and the pair danced around the displays of DeLeon Tequila.
*Jeremy Renner walked the carpet with his mother and brought her inside to the Weinstein Golden Globe after party. The two viewed the specialty cocktails featuring the exclusive liquor, DeLeon Tequila and mingled with guest for the remainder of the night.
*Leonardo DiCaprio, Jamie Foxx, and Kerry Washington were all singing and dancing along to Earth, Wind, Fire’s song, “Shining Star” at the bash.
*Jonah Hill was chatting with Leonardo DiCaprio and Golden Globe winner Quentin Tarantino at the Django table while sipping on DeLeon Tequila cocktails.
*Jodie Foster was having family time at the bash.
*Jessica Alba was with Heidi Klum at Harvey Weinstein’s table at the Golden Globe after party and the pair were dancing and snacking on cheeseburgers.
*Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz were coupled up at the Weinstein Golden Globes after party. The couple sat at Harvey Weinstein’s private table and were laughing and in good spirits the whole night.

The rumors that Katie Holmes auditioned to be Tom Cruise’s third wife have been swirling ever since the couple first got together in April 2005.
But now they just got a whole lot louder.
According to a bombshell new book, Holmes was just one of many young actresses unwittingly vying for the spot of Cruise’s off-screen leading lady.
In the tome “Going Clear: Scientology, Hollywood and the Prison of Belief,” it is claimed that a bevy of Hollywood’s hottest female stars including Scarlett Johansson, Kate Bosworth and Jessica Alba were invited to audition by Scientology handlers for a new Mission: Impossible series, but the real role was decidedly different.
However, the most surprising revelation is that Cruise’s Scientologist matchmakers bizarrely thought that Lindsay Lohan might be a good match for Cruise and they invited her to “audition” at the group’s Celebrity Center.
The courting of Hollywood hotties reportedly came after the collapse of Cruise’s relationship with “Modern Family” star Sofia Vergara. The two went their separate ways after her refusal to join Scientology, reported Pulitzer Prize-winning author Lawrence Wright.
In the end, it was Katie Holmes who snared the role (though Cruise apparently lusted after Jennifer Garner, who wisely chose to pursue a relationship with Ben Affleck) and their union ended last year after she shocked the world by announcing she was divorcing the mega star.
