The Kentucky Derby may be over but we still have our fabulous hat and great memories of The Los Angeles Athletic Club (LAAC) Viewing Party Saturday, appropriately called “Hold Your Horses”. Outside of the actual race, this is our favorite place to be since it’s as close to tradition as you can get outside of Kentucky.
The historic downtown L.A. setting feels like a different age, with it’s beautiful brick facade, old-world service and regal rooms. The best part? Hat designer Pooka Queen was showcasing some of her original hat creations, so if you didn’t like the one you wore, you could pick up a different chapeau. oh, and the mint juleps weren’t bad either.
