I always think it’s incredibly important to give back and support causes whenever I can. Last Tuesday night I had the opportunity to do just that when I attended the Children’s Brain Tumor Foundation gala at the Beverly Hills Hotel.
This is a cause close to my heart as raising money in the hope of finding a cure and saving the lives of these children, is imperative.
The evening was wonderful –  Kathy Wakile and Camille Grammer were in attendance and Gavin DeGraw gave an amazing intimate performance of some of his hit songs.
I put in two bids on the beautiful jewelry at the auction (and did so knowing that the money would go directly to the foundation) and I won.
So not only did I leave the event with two stunning new pieces of jewelry, i also know that I did my bit to make a difference.
And the latter is the most important thing of all.
I ended last year by being in Dubai with my family at my favorite resort in Madinat Jumeirah.
We had a delicious dinner with all of our favorite foods: sushi, steak, prosciutto, caviar, and a chocolate fondue machine.
As the countdown began, we ran through the sand and went right up to the Arabian Sea as the tide rolled in. There were 3 boats a few meters in front of us which shot out unbelievable fireworks at the crack of midnight to ring in the New Year.
The gorgeous display of fireworks continued for 25 minutes. My hairs stood up and I could not stop smiling & feeling elated & eternally grateful inside! The water became so colorful & was as magical as ever:-)
God, thank you for the best family in the world and for blessing me with another perfect year!

As I look back at my life in awe and amazement, the one thing that keeps popping into my head is that we NEVER know the future! The seemingly meaningless events that occur, or the random people who cross our paths, could very well end up changing our lives forever, and being the most important people to us in the future!
Make your plans in life, but hold them loosely, because God may have a different plan for you all together.
If something doesn’t work out it is usually for a reason, which will one day become clear. Stay patient. Some people come into our lives to teach us a lesson that we needed to learn at that time and then exit swiftly as their task is complete. The future is a vast infinity without limits!
Embrace it…:-)
What I love most about Dubai is that everyday is a new day! There is change in the air all around. Nothing is stagnant here, everything is highly dynamic.
I don’t think there is a place on Earth that has ever changed so fast, ever in history! This same magic can be applied to one’s life here as well. Just when you think you’re reality is one thing one day, it can be completely something different the very next day.
Love can be a tricky thing. As a friend once told me, “Michelle, you’re no good when you are in love!” Is this true? I hope and wish not! Love is a blessing and a curse…
All I have ever wanted is to be in love and to be loved back. Why does life have to be so complicated? Could it be that some of us are destined to just be alone all of our lives? It’s wonderful to get a taste of romance and pure bliss, but doesn’t this fleeting happiness leave us more lonely and sad, once we are disillusioned and it’s gone?
Why are people afraid of love? Some people (men) have such twisted ideas and double standards. I wish, with the bottom of my heart that I could have one night of true passionate love! It saddens me:-(
I see so many happy “normal” couples and I, of course, become jealous. Why can’t I have that. I guess the answer is that it’s not in my cards…..
ALWAYS expect the unexpected! And be careful never to jump to conclusions.
Never, ever expect anything from anyone but from yourself. Be aware of your surroundings and expect trust to be built.
Never make a quick decision, especially when you are angry or tired. When you are happy, remember these moments and cherish them.
If someone treats you badly, just remember that everyone is hungry for power. But ultimately, everyone wants love, loyalty, friendship and attention.
I’m loving the beautiful red flowers blossoming on the trees in the spring of Dubai. When I see this, my heart fills with hope, desire and love. My life has become better than any fantasy I could ever imagine. Thank you, God! I love you!
Sometimes we underestimate the importance of love.
We should all love freely and make others happy. When you love someone, you should  always let them know, even if you are not sure if they love you back.
Celebrate life and embrace chance. We make friends, we love them and we confide in them. Â When you feel sad, as if the whole world has let you down, pick yourself up and be strong! You always have yourself…and your loved ones.
Cherish those who stand by you over the years through the good times and the bad. Their love and support, ultimately is the greatest gift we are given.
I feel so close to God when I am over here in this part of the world. The sound of the call to prayer, brings peace and comfort to my soul. There are so many religions, and the commonality is, that it is our intentions that count and it’s important that they come from a place of love.
I’ve learnt to embrace life, accept others for who they truly are and, most importantly, never judge others. Life isn’t perfect. We are not perfect. We must remember to forgive others, and, also, to forgive ourselves.
The more you have the, more you have to lose. The more you hope for, the more you can be disappointed. The more you love someone, the greater the fear you have of losing them is.
And, the more you trust and confide in someone, the more they can betray you in a greater way… but one should never stop loving, stop trusting, and always, always, should be ready to forgive.

This last week has been full of so many superior highs & deep lows…The most valuable lesson I have learned is to always stay positive and believe in what you want to believe because the mind is a very powerful tool!
In life we will find many people who love us, many people who hate us, but it’s the indifferent ones that should bother you the most, because those that hate you are actually giving you their energy.
I thank God every second for the strength he gives me and for blessing me with the best family and friends in the world! I Love you all (you know who you are…XOXO)!
