Some of the names you would expect to see on any “Most Beautiful” list such as Scarlett Johansson, Sophia Bush, Candice Swanepoel, Kate Beckinsale and Olivia Wilde.
But what is surprising about TC Candler’s 23rd Annual Independent Critics List of the 100 Most Beautiful Faces 2012, is the notable exceptions and the list of newcomers, who some of us may not recognized by name.
While Rihanna makes the list, Beyoncé doesn’t and there’s no sign of Hollywood beauties such as Gwyneth Paltrow, Halle Berry or even Angelina Jolie.
“For example, as much as you may like her, there is really no need to mention Angelina Jolie (who was on the list from 1999 to 2003),” the curators of the list say.
“Unlike many other annual publications, The Independent Critics List is not a popularity contest. It is not about the sexiest or the most famous. Rather, it aims to be a very international list and one that is inclusive of many cultures, lifestyles, professions and degrees of fame,” they add.
Over 25 countries are represented on the 2012 list.
Do you agree with their choices and who would you have liked to have made the list?
