Is is just us who love discovering what moniker’s stars use when they try to pretend not to be famous?
In Touch is reporting that during a recent father-daughter trip with Suri to the luxe Greenbrier resort in White Sulphur Springs, W.Va., Tom Cruise checked in under the name “Jack Hunt.”
And the actor didn’t have to search too far for creative inspiration. It’s a combination of the names of two of his famous on-screen characters: Jack from his movie Jack Reacher, and Hunt from his Mission Impossible character, Ethan Hunt.
And even though Tom tried to fly under the radar, he still pulled out all the stops to make sure Suri had the time of her life. “Suri seemed very happy,” an employee at the hotel tells the new issue of In Touch.
“They loved the pool,” adds the source. “Tom went in the water but spent a lot of time relaxing and watching Suri swim in the shallow end with other kids. They were having a blast.”

Tom Cruise is opening up for the first time since his divorce from Katie Holmes and admits that he too, much like the rest of the world, was stunned by their split.
In an interview with a German magazine, Cruise admitted: “I did not expect that. Life is a challenge. You are 50 and you think you have everything in order and suddenly it hits you, that’s what life is all about.”
The couple split just before the actor’s 50th birthday and he revealed that he has had “an incredible amount of time to reflect” on his divorce from Holmes, 34.
“Life is like a tragic comedy, you need a sense of humor,”he added.
The pair married in a lavish ceremony in Italy in November 2006 after meeting in April 2005 and their relationship was heavily scrutinized with wild claims that Suri, who was born in April 2006, was not their daughter. They addressed the speculation when the trio appeared the cover of Vanity Fair in 2006.
As for the immediate future, Holmes picks her words carefully. “I hope this is a peaceful year for a lot of people in the world. When you look back on the last year, there were a lot of tragedies—Hurricane Sandy, the Connecticut shooting. I…I just hope it’s a good year for everyone.” You included? Holmes smiles, then is quiet for a few beats. “A lot of people have gone through a lot of stuff.”
The actress, who split from Tom Cruise after five years of marriage, also reveals that when it comes to Suri’s dazzling array of designer outfits, it is the tot, who picks her looks each day.
“She’s got a great eye, she really does,” Holmes says.

The Dark Knight, does indeed, rise
And finally, the premiere for the “The Dark Knight Rises” was held last night, and it seems to be getting great reviews from the critics. Here’s one we liked in particular. And the trailer is below. The film hits cinema’s on July 20.
It was shaping up to be one of the nastiest divorce battles in recent times, but just like that, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes reached a settlement. And, one the most surprising elements, was that Holmes gets primary custody, with Cruise getting “generous” visitation rights.
Holmes’s attorney Jonathan Wolfe confirmed the deal today, in what almost appeared to be a press release for Holmes, Cruise and their respective legal teams.
“The case has been settled and the agreement has been signed. We are thrilled for Katie and her family and are excited to watch as she embarks on the next chapter of her life,” Wolfe said in the statement released to PEOPLE mag.
“This result could not have been achieved without the hard work of my partner Gary Skoloff and our co-counsel Allan Mayefsky, Michael Mosberg and Larry Trachtenberg of Aronson Mayefsky and Sloan and Peter Walzer and Chris Melcher of Walzer & Melcher in California.
“We thank Tom’s counsel for their professionalism and diligence that helped bring about this speedy resolution.”
There was no immediate word on the details, but Holmes and Cruise were reunited once last time on paper, saying that their focus was on protecting daughter Suri, 6.
“We are committed to working together as parents to accomplish what is in our daughter Suri’s best interests. We want to keep matters affecting our family private and express our respect for each other’s commitment to each of our respective beliefs and support each other’s roles as parents,” says the statement from Holmes and Cruise’s reps, Nanci Ryder and Amanda Lundberg respectively.
Holmes, 33, and Suri will reside in New York, and even Cruise’s lawyer chimed in on the love fest telling TMZ, “The Tom Cruise-Katie Holmes case has been settled with a signed agreement. Tom is really pleased we got there, and so am I.”
We have numerous questions, but our primary one is, why would Cruise not fight for joint custody? Seems extraordinary strange that he didn’t….unless, you factor in that perhaps Holmes had dirt on him that she was willing to dish?
And as for the haste in the settlement, one can only assume that given the tsunami of bad press Scientology has received since the initial divorce was made public, perhaps Cruise was under pressure from the church to resolve the issue as quickly as possible.
This time last week, the world was left reeling as news broke that Katie Holmes was ending her marriage to Tom Cruise.
And since last Friday, every detail has been breathlessly reported almost every minute of the day. Is anyone exhausted by the oversaturation of coverage? Well, it certainly shows no signs of abating anytime soon.
It also appears that Katie Holmes is almost flirting with the intense media spotlight shining upon her. For the past three days, she has taken little Suri out and about in Manhattan, playing the role of the devoted mom.
Two things of note: Kate, herself, looks to have lost a significant amount of weight, and this was particularly evident when she stepped out wearing a blue and orange halterneck top which showed off her bony back (also, gasp, she wasn’t wearing a bra).
Secondly, forget the headlines surrounding Suri that the divorce is starting to take a toll on her- this is not the case. What is taking a toll on her, is being dragged around the city with photographers capturing her every move (you just have to watch the clips at the end of this piece to see the impact it is having upon her).
And more and more signs are pointing to the fact that Holmes had been planning her great getaway for months.
Her timely interview, conducted just six weeks ago, in America’sElle magazine, where she says she is entering a “new phase” and feels “sexier” seems to foreshadow the events that would soon unravel.
Throughout the interview she tried to deflect questions away from the subject of Cruise.
It does appear that the information being filtered out to the media is heavily pro-Holmes and anti-Cruise, and this is something that has not been lost on Cruise and his team.
On Wednesday, we wrote how Cruise’s lawyer, Bert Fields, said they were letting the Holmes team “play the media until they wear everyone out and then we’ll have something to say”.
He added: ”It’s not Tom’s style to do this publicly. He is really sad about what’s happening.”
Now, it’s also emerging that the divorce ”is not a fight over religion” with a source telling TMZ that it “being used as a way to hurt Tom.”
What is also being used to hurt Cruise at the moment, is his six-year-old daughter Suri, who he has only been able to communicate with via the phone on a daily basis.
Interestingly, the source who spoke to TMZ revealed that the explanation as to why the marriage came to an abrupt halt would soon come to light.
One thing is for certain: This is shaping up to be one of the nastiest battles in Hollywood for quite some time and watching these clips below, you really can’t help but feel for Suri, who is a pawn in what will become an increasingly ugly game.
For Katie Holmes this year’s Independence Day has added meaning after filing for divorce from Tom Cruise last week.
Embracing her newfound freedom, the 33-year-old stepped out this morning with daughter Suri to pick up some July Fourth supplies in New York.
With the weight of over five years of marriage to the superstar lifted off her shoulders, Holmes looked like your average shopper (well, aside from the security and shutterbugs who were following her that is) as she stocked up on American July Fourth traditions such as ground beef, hamburger rolls, strawberries and bananas.
The former “Dawsons Creek” star also broke her silence over her split from Cruise telling the New York Daily News, “I’m alright. Thank you.”
On Tuesday night, Holmes and Suri were pictured buying ice cream on a sweltering summer’s night in the city’s East Village.
“Katie looked happy and was friendly to the customers and staff while Suri sat on her mom’s lap,” an eyewitness at the ice cream shop told People.
And it seems little Suri is unaware of the nasty custody battle for which the stage is already been set between Holmes and Cruise.
Though Holmes has filed for sole custody, Cruise is expected to challenge this.
However, his lawyer remains somewhat tight-lipped over Cruise’s legal challenge.
Bret Fields revealed: ”Tactically we can’t say where Tom will file a divorce case and if he’ll be seeking joint custody of Suri. We are letting the other side play the media until they wear everyone out and then we’ll have something to say.
”It’s not Tom’s style to do this publicly. He is really sad about what’s happening.”
Meanwhile, Cruise was said to have flown from Iceland to L.A to mark his 50th birthday yesterday.
Holmes filed for divorce on June 28 and said in a statement that her’ “primary concern remains, as it always has been, her daughter’s best interest.” Cruise’s rep, meanwhile, said the actor was “deeply saddened” by his Holmes’ divorce filing.
Holmes and Suri, 6, have moved into a new, 3-bedroom apartment, which apparently Cruise knew of in advance but thought the move was necessitated for privacy reasons and had no idea it was because she planned to divorce him.
There is one bright spot for Cruise, however: He led Forbes‘ annual list of the 100 highest paid actors released on Tuesday, earning nearly twice that of second place Leonardo DiCaprio, pulling in a whopping $75 million between May 2011 and May 2012.
