She made her big debut on Wednesday night as an “American Idol” judge, but the role Mariah Carey relishes the most is that of wife and mother.
In an exclusive interview with In Touch, on newsstands now, Mariah opens up about her life as Nick Cannon’s wife and what it’s like to have 21-month-old twins, admitting that having kids wasn’t always in the cards for her.
“I never thought I’d experience motherhood,” she admits. “My career was my life.” But all that changed when she met Nick. “When you find the right person, you [want to] go through it,” she tells In Touch.
And now, the couple have finally settled into their roles as parents and are learning to embrace the unique personalities of their little ones.
“He’s my little buddy,” Mariah admits of her son, Moroccan. “We watch movies together. He can be a little more aggressive, but not in a bad way — he’ll give his sister a little tap when she’s trying to give him a hug. Monroe is just a sweetie.”
Regardless of their different personas, Mariah feels more adoration now than she ever has.
“I’m so in love,” the superstar admits of her new family. “Every moment is incredible.”
