She’s been christened the “The Megan Fox of Canada” by Maxim magazine. But despite both being beautiful, buxom and brunette, that’s where the similarities between Veronika London and Fox end.
London, the Mexican-born beauty, raised in Toronto, is throwing herself into gritty roles, just as she did for the 2011 Searching for Angels, where she played a heroin- addicted prostitute.
And it is pretty evident from our interview below, that London is very much about charting her own terrain in the world of Hollywood…
Celebzter: You were born in Mexico City, but raised in Toronto….what prompted your family to move?
Veronika London: Growing up my dad got transfer around to different countries for work. I lived in the States, Europe and Canada. At the age of 18 I decided to make my home base Toronto, although I spend quite some time in New York City and Los Angeles.
Celebzter: How would you describe your childhood?
Veronika London: Rebellious, I liked to test limits and break rules, for that I was always popular even though that was never my plan. I loved sports, was a smart kid and was always performing in either dance competitions or plays.
Celebzter: When did you first get the acting bug?
Veronika London: I wouldn’t say I actually have the “acting bug”, to me acting is a sane form of therapy and expression. After all we do get paid to exploit our own personal dreams, pain, lust and loss on camera.
Celebzter: What was your first role and how nervous were you on the set the first day?
Veronika London: My first on-camera role was to be lead in a rock music video. It’s funny, I shot the bands promo poster and I told myself that would be the last photo shoot I ever did. After the shoot the Director of Photography from Universal Music asked me if I wanted to be lead in the band’s debut music video. Since I’m always up for new things, I agreed. On the day we were shooting I fell in love with being in front of the camera. I wasn’t nervous shockingly however the first time I shot the TV-Series Lingerie for HBO, that was a different story. I had no idea what I was doing. I auditioned for the role with no training and booked a part. I was more nervous that I would forget my lines.
Celebzter: You’ve been called “The Megan Fox” of Canada, how are you and Megan similar?
Veronika London: We stand for similar traits, “Freedom, Confidence and Seduction” in my eyes.
Celebzter: And what are your differences?
Celebzter: Does being a pin-up make it easy or harder to date men?
Veronika London: Whatever you focus on, expands… Easy.
Celebzter: What are three fun facts about you that not many know?
Veronika London: I love to give massages, cook and to take part in extreme sports.
Celebzter: And who would be your leading man?
Veronika London: Somehow Al Pacino would have to be tied into it.
Celebzter: What is the secret to happiness in your eyes?
Veronika London: To me I am most happy when I accomplish a goal or during the journey. I have yet to learn and practice the saying “Happiness is a state to live by“. Most of the time I have anxiety to move faster, live more and live outside my comfort zone. Life is too short to fall onto someone else`s plan.
Celebzter: And, lastly, what do you have coming up next on the agenda?
Veronika London: Besides several magazines shoot, I`ve started working on the movie “No One will Notice“ which also start Joseph Canatta and Erik Fellows from Days of Our Lives. The movie has a taste of Dexter but darker.
Here’s London in action…
