Drew Barrymore is not your average Hollywood new mother who is in a race to shed the baby weight.
The 38-year-old, who have birth to daughter, Olive, in October, says she didn’t stress about getting into shape, but instead, embraced the joys of being a first-time mom.
But she admits that she is slightly self-conscious these days.
“I’d rather kill myself than get into a bikini right now!” Drew tells In Touch with a laugh.
Though, she has been in no rush, Drew reveals that she is healthy and she is back to where she was pre-pregnancy and that’s just fine by her…. even revealing that she wasn’t completely in shape before getting pregnant.
“I take care of myself. But I’m never going to be the person who talks about diet and exercise — I would fail that conversation!” Drew jokes.
Other pregnancy changes Drew endured? Facial hair and skin discoloration! “I got a wonderful little goatee — and it was red! I also got hyperpigmentation on my cheeks.” Nothing a little microdermabrasion couldn’t fix — coupled with her must-have beauty product: concealer! “If I was going off to a desert island, concealer is the one thing I’d want to take. It’s the only product that I couldn’t make it without!” Drew shares with In Touch.
Now that Drew’s in full-time mommy mode — “This is sacred time,” she says of Olive’s age — she plans to scale back on acting and directing projects and keep her calendar open for plenty of family time.
And topping the list are date nights with art dealer husband Will Kopelman, 36.
“You have to try to squeeze in the occasional date night,” Drew explains. “For our last date night, he took me downtown for ramen noodles, which is my favorite!”
