Why Not “W” ?
Instead of the “W” this downtown San Diego hotel should be stamped with a “P” for “PARTY” ! If you’re looking to take the kids to Sea World, this isn’t for you.
Part of the boutique chain, the W San Deigo (part of the Starwood empire) is smack dab in the bustling Gaslamp Quarter and Little Italy with all of its clubs and restaurants. But you don’t even need to leave the hotel for a lively time – the “Rooftop Bar” has a view and trending cocktails. Or, have a leisurely libation at the “Living Room Lounge” where elegance meets comfort.
Recently renovated to the tune of 5M, the 258 guestrooms and suites are modern and luxurious, but the new restaurant takes the Oscar.
Featuring contemporary world cuisine with a spice of Latin flair, KELVIN plays with ambitious combinations, such as “Compressed watermelon” with blue cheese and cilantro, which, surprisingly, delight the taste buds. The ambience is subdued modern, with high ceilings and a lovely patio area.
During the day, the Veranda, an indoor/outdoor space is the space to be, hanging out at the WET (outdoor heated pool).
There’s a spa and they offer in-room spa services as well. See? another reason never to leave the hotel.
