It is one of the most haunting pictures to emerge from the Boston bombings. That of the suspected Boston bomber lurking behind the innocent child that would go on to lose their life for unexplainable reasons.
In the image, the suspect, today named as 19-year-old Dzhokhar A Tsarnaev, is seen in the background as eight-year-old Martin Richard stands waiting to cheer his dad as he crosses the finishing line of the marathon.
Martin, had been waiting to give his dad a hug.
He was one of three that were killed in the twin blast on Monday. 176 people were injured.
Tsarnaev is still at large and believed to be “armed and dangerous.” But his suspected accomplice and brother, Tamerlan Tzarnaev, 26, who wore the dark baseball cap, was shot dead.
