Cat’s from Cat’s Style Talk checks into one of London’s best hotels.
Here’s what she writes…
Having just won the Best in London award at the London Lifestyle awards for the second year running it seems that Mark Fuller’s, Sanctum Soho can do no wrong.
It is the home from home to international rockstars, has a hugely popular Monday night film club, a wonderful restaurant and my personal favorite haunt of the summer, a roof top bar with a 12 person Jacuzzi.
I spent many a night in the summer dancing on the roof as the sun rose over Soho, when I held my late Father’s, Juan Antonio Guirado, two week art show in the Sanctum’s private cinema which was converted into a gallery for the event.
Being known as ‘The Rock n’ Roll hotel’ (you can hire Fender guitars and amps to your room as well as ride Harley Davidson’s) I kept my first stay at the hotel in keeping with the rock vibe, having my junior deluxe suite being fully taken advantage of by my London friends (and non friends, who invites people to someone else’s room? seriously bad manners!). We had wii bowling contests in the lounge, drank from the very large bar and partied into the wee hours (pardon the pun).
My recent stay was intentionally far lower key as I felt I had missed out by not taking full advantage of my luxurious surroundings (a bit like flying first class and sleeping the whole way). My husband and I had a junior suite, which is my personal favorite, think 1940s movie star boudoir meets T Rex, with a free standing bath tub surrounded by a fringed curtain, lots of mirrored closets and the most comfortable bed that felt like we were sleeping in a cloud. We made the most of every luxury aspect and I am pretty sure we were the only ones in bed before midnight, which I am putting down to exhaustion and not the fact we are getting older!
Do yourself a favor and visit the Sanctum Soho next time you are in London, be it for a great rock n roll night out, a naughty rendezvous or simply to get some luxury down time.
