Has Ann Curry known the writing has been on the wall for some time? In the wake of reports that NBC executives have began negotiating her exit from co-hosting duties on the “Today” show, and interview she gave Ladies’ Home Journal on May 9 has been published and reveals that she has long had insecurities about her position on the morning show.
“You worry, am I not good enough? Am I not what people need? Am I asking the right questions?,” she reveals. “When people say negative things or speculate, you can’t help but feel hurt.”
Curry, who has been with the station at “Today” for 15 years, has copped much of the blame for the fall of the show’s ratings since she became co-host last June, and the ratings war between ABC’s “Good Morning America” has intensified within in that period as each slugs it out to take the top slot.
She added: “I haven’t dropped the ball when it comes” to viewers
“I’ve been at ‘Today’ for 15 years and I’d love to make it to 20,” she said.
The interview will appear in the August issue of the magazine which comes out on July 10. Portions of the interview were published on the magazine’s website on Thursday.
One question that has really had us mulling over in recent days, is it really far that the blame for the drop in ratings comes down singlehandedly on her shoulders? Let us know your thoughts on this one….
