Hilary Duff has revealed that her son, Luca “makes her smile every day”

The star opened up to Life & Style magazine about being a mom.

They write….

Three weeks after giving birth to her first child, son Luca, Hilary Duff is finding motherhood her most exciting adventure yet.
“The past couple of weeks have been the most joyful time,” she tells Life & Style. “Luca makes us smile all day, every day!”

Motherhood can have its difficulties, but luckily, Luca has been a great baby.

“I’m a bit short on sleep, but he has been the best behaved little boy,” she tells Life & Style. “We are so fortunate to have a strong, healthy and happy baby.”

Hilary, 24, and her NHL player hubby Mike Comrie, 31, who married in August 2010 after a nearly six-month engagement, welcomed their first child together on March 20.

“Welcome to the world Luca Cruz Cromie!” she tweeted on March 22. “Tuesday evening, we became proud parents of a healthy 7 pound 6 ounce beautiful boy. We are overjoyed and feel like the luckiest parents in the world. He is surrounded by so much love!!”

“Wow I can’t believe I have a baby! The most wonderful, sweet, adorable baby! Thank you for all the messages and well wishes! Love you all so much,” she added one day later. [Life & Style]

No political commentary from me here – I will just state that I’m glad he’s leaving the race so he can focus on his daughter Bella. We have friends who have lost children to Trisomy 18, which is what his daughter has. The fact she is still alive at age 3 is a miracle. It is such a horrible thing for any family and child to go through. Whether you like the politician or not, Bella’s just an innocent child who has had a very tough life. They are lucky that they have the financial resources to get her the best care; but in reality, Trisomy 18 takes one on a path that usually can’t be controlled. They really have no clue what to expect from day to day, and every day she’s alive really is a blessing. I’m glad the family is getting off the campaign trail so they can focus on Bella & being a family.
