Totally Tuned In: Koala swims to canoe and hitches a ride

They’re cute, cuddly…. and they spend their lives in trees. But Julie Elliot and her group in the Outrigger Canoe Club in Queensland, Australia,  were stunned when a koala dived into the water and swam over to them and literally hitched a ride.

Elliot, who filmed the rare encounter, said she and her colleagues were amazed when the koala came paddling towards them.

“It took a sip of water and then saw us and obviously decided to come straight over,” she said.

This clip is too-cute-for-words….

    Also, they probably should have lowered their voices to lessen chances of spooking the Koala, although it looked like he was enjoying their conversation!
