He has received a lifetime ban from the sport he loved and was stripped of his record seven Tour de France titles after deciding to abandon his long fight against charges of doping.
And with his decision not to fight the charges, there are still so many questions surrounding Lance Armstrong and many answers we may never know.
The biggest one perhaps, is if he was innocent, which he still maintains he is, why not fight to clear his name and keep his legacy in check?
His version?
“There comes a point in every man’s life when he has to say, ‘Enough is enough.’ For me, that time is now,” Armstrong said in a statement claiming he was the victim of a witch hunt. “The toll this has taken on my family, and my work for our foundation and on me leads me to where I am today — finished with this nonsense.”
