Why heels aren’t always a girl’s best friends - Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard is the latest lady to take a tumble, but there have been countless women before her and there is sure to be many after her, who make the slip in heels

The video of Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard falling in front of news cameras on Wednesday in India has surfaced on almost every major news site.

Gillard was paying a visit to the Gandhi memorial in New Delhi on Wednesday when her heel got stuck in the grass and she fell , landing on the ground.

“For men who get to wear flat shoes all day every day, if you wear a heel it  can get embedded in soft grass and then when you pull your foot out the shoe  doesn’t come,” she told reporters. “And the rest of it is as you saw.”

It is the third time that Prime Minister has struggled with her shoes….but she is not the only woman who has stumbled and fell….from music stars to supermodels, these clips may prove that sometimes, it’s better to navigate the world in flats.
